Sex shop on Fifth Ave

I walk by it everyday home from the subway. I never see anyone go in or out. I assume it caters primarily to women?

I stopped in there once to check it out. Just your standard sex shop -- some fugly lingerie, sex toys, lube, etc. Don't remember if they did videos or not.
I want Toys in Babeland to open up a Brooklyn branch! -
it's pathetic.

Hey, look at the bright side. Maybe this will allow propery value to falsely take a dip, if even just for a moment. Then I can finally afford a nice big condo.

Isn't there one in the West Village? Is it run by the same folks? Either way, it doesn't seem like the type of place that needs to be brick and mortar.
-
And I thought it was a pet store

Nope, it's actually been there for several years. When it first opened, there was a bit of an uproar because it's right across the street from a middle school. The store agreed not to open until afternoon, after the kids are out of school, and to keep the windows covered up until opening time. So if you walk by in the morning, you wouldn't even know it is there. It is small, and they don't have a lot of stuff. I personally am too uptight to shop for sex toys in my own neighborhood, but they've been there for a while so I guess someone's buying.

Been inside. Not impressed. Doesn't have nearly the selection or vibe (
) of Toys in Babeland does. -

Rose, you can always shop online. This is a great women-owned store in San Francisco. They bill and ship discreetly and have good product reviews (I just don't know HOW I know these things

Just so's y'all know, there's been a lot of hubbub over Good Vibrations in recent months. It used to be worker-owned, but a few months ago they went to a more corporate model that has pissed off a lot of their old loyal customers and workers.

Just FYI. They're still very feminist and woman-positive and all that, but some people may not want to do business with them because of all the changes in the company.
I prefer Babeland, which also sells online (http://babeland.com), because even though it's not a co-op, it is locally owned and I know they're good to their workers.
Either one's better than your run-of-the-mill skanky sex shop, though! -

Absolutely. Isn't that why they invented the internet?

My reply posted twice, so I erased the duplicate.

You’re at risk at Manhattan's Pink Pussycat store of being turned on by penis-shaped pasta, inflatable human bodies, edible panties, and tourists. The Manhattan location has the perk of being conveniently close to the PATH train that delivers lots of hot action on Saturday nights. I’m turned on by all those flamingo pink bows stapled on to fishnet stockings available at both Manhattan’s Pink Pussycat and Rite Aid this Halloween season.
I’ve heard Babes in Toyland is less gag oriented and focuses on females seeking satisfaction, selling pricey, yet high quality sex toys. -

now THAT would be nice. That place is clean, well set up and not at all dodgy, plus the ladies who run it are really cool, even to the men who occasion the place. -
the owner of the toy store in my college town had a couple of dogs who hung out by the front, which was an awesome addition -- if you were nervous at all, you could just pet them until you got acclimatized.

I recently purchased a thin plastic covering for the screen of my blackberry. Was billed by "best skin ever". That sounds dirty
