germfree - your attitude and avatar frankly creep me out. But thanks for your unsolicited input on my comment. You may be interested to know that those two ultimate ying/yang expressions are basic to Taijiquan and Qigong.

LtT - I'm not afraid of my submissive side OR my powerful sides, nor was I offended by your comment (and I know a thing or two about Chinese medicine/philosphy). I sent you a PM yesterday - did you get it? I'm not sure if it went because my mailbox was full.

Is it the done thing that input must be solicited on a board like this?

Flexi - gawd I never check that box  Just did and have receiveed your PM - wll get back to ya soon.

    Actually....

I love all of you deeply and individually, but threads like this are not an appropriate use of the board's resources.

This is a place for conversations about Park Slope. It's true that people can look at the topic title and move on, but there are also people who read this board by RSS feed, and they have to sift through all of these posts to get to the neighborhood news. It's also confusing and overwhelming for newbies who stumble on the board and are trying to make sense of it.

I actually enjoyed parts of this thread, and it's perfectly fine with me if you guys want to hang out and chat... but I think this type of conversation needs to go in a different place, somehow.

Offhand, here are some ideas -
    1. set up a separate message board where board regulars can chat willy nilly about random things of no consequence, but it's OK, because it's the Special Board for Regulars to Chat Willy Nilly About Random Things of No Consequence, Including Avatars, Dexy's Midnight Runners Lyrics, and the Possible Hotness of FlexiChick (abbreviated as: "The Lounge")
    2. set up better RSS feeds that are more neighborhood specific

Once again DH comes in as the voice of reason. Can we please debate something other than my hotness in The Lounge (good idea, btw)? We all know I'm hot (now, where is that "tongue in cheek" avatar?)
  • Thankyou! I simply don't have time for this. Like, I have to shuffle off and apply aromatic unguents to the boils on my short, squat, unbendy body! Then I'll be a dating machine! Woohoo! Look out all you single guys of Park Slope!
  • it's lame that people are smiting germfree for not joining the drool-in.

and after a lot of big talk from prominent parties about how mean smiting is.

    just saying.

Um, I think I wrote it was hot. What's creepy about that? Hot pic. bottom line.

Whoah there, Nelly! I forgot to inquire: how exactly does my "attitude" creep you out?

And why on earth would a picture of the awsomest and most highbrow dance troup ever - "Pan's People," of Top of the Pops - be so frankly irksome to you?

    Hmmm?
  • germfree! wrote: [quote=Flexichick]Your observation may have been general, but your comments were specifically about me.
    Ok, Ok. How about this:

I found it odd that Street Shooter found the subject thread-worthy.

I was creeped out by some of the comments it generated - "hot", "submissive and powerful."

I found your reaction - "aw, chucks guys," or something to that effect - downright alarming.

I'm done. Now can we get back to who is and isn't getting dates in Park Slope, and why?

    Hey Germ.
If you want to get back to who is & isn't getting dates in PS then start a thread of your own. Just an idea.
In the meanwhile, lay off flexi. I started this to pay homage to the avatar and I haven't had too many complaints :x
  • Uh, I think that when germfree! said -
Now can we get back to who is and isn't getting dates in Park Slope, and why?
it was with tongue firmly in cheek. (And to be fair, germ was commenting on a thread devoted to an individual who had recently complained that there was a lot of discussion on the board that has nothing to do with the neighborhood, so there's that little bit o' irony there, too... )

and B, why is everyone so damn testy lately? Maybe it's the realization that daylight hours are getting shorter, but I, for one, love the fall more than any other time of year...

I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the clarification. I am a bit testy these days.
