and remember, even though it seems like eons, one year is really not all that long in the grand scheme of things. i assume you'll be able to talk on the phone and to write, correct? so it's merely a long distance relationship with them, which is what it became as soon as you left Detroit. once the year is up, you can go back again for a visit, right?

I do talk to them on the phone , and when my adorable 2 year old nephew finds out that I am the one on the phone , he demands to speak to me (or he makes them call me) and starts asking me to come over and take him "bye bye in jedds(grandfathers) beep beep" , sooo damn cute. O:)
