What other gyms are there in the area that I won't feel I'll be molested?

I have been going there for nine years and have never felt like somebody was going to "sling me over their shoulders and rape me". Sure, some guys (and girls) will check you out with their eyes, but I have never seen any aggressive behaviour there.

I understand that you felt threatened by these guys, but "leering" is one thing and "they were going to rape me" is something very different.

The Harbor owners are 2 guys who are very responsive.

There used to be a very nasty guy who would work out and try to "save" multiple weight machines at the same time. He wouldn't let anybody "work in" and screamed at several members who tried. On top of that, he never wore deodorant and REEKED of sweat. People complained and they canceled his membership.

I suggest that if you think somebody is going to RAPE you, you tell management immediately....AND you call the police.

If you just don't like that people will look at your body when you go to the gym (or the store, or the subway), stay in the house, because that happens everywhere.
  • I cantbelieve that even if some idiots were leering at you, you jump to the conclusion that you were in danger of being raped. That is such an inflamatory statement. And btw, I've worked out there for 5 years and have never felt unsafe.
  • mybe they were just admiring your form and technique

or maybe she is the same guest who posted another message a few minutes earlier (on another thread) about how great Slope Fitness is.
  • OK...I worked out yesterday and was on the lookout for potential rapists. Other then spotting a few "crimes against lycra" I didn't see anything suspicious.

I've also worked out there for years, and never had any problems. Aren't you being a little paranoid about who writes where. I mean if people like certain places fine, but I don't think they are doing it on purpose.

I think all guests are the same person with multiple personalities until proven otherwise

And I went to Harbor again today with no leering. Even when I used to work out in the free weight area I never had issues there ('cept for the above mentioned stinky/nasty guy who apparently was thrown out of several other neighborhood gyms).
