FINALLY finishing up 23rd Sts btwn 4th and 7th. Looks like that's it for now...ah, the fumes.

"No Parking Tuesday" signs up on 22nd btwn 5th and 7th Aves. Since the milling is done, I assume this is the repaving.

OK, milling is done, damn nosy and boy did the house shake. Supposedly "2 weeks" till the repaving starts, giving DOT, ConEd and Keysapn time for repairs. So if you have problems (that are still apparent after the milling: sink holes, cracks, bad manholes, etc.) call 311 and the utilities BEFORE they repave. More updates to come.

So the boys at DOT showed up a bit late today (noon-ish) I assume due to the snow and did 2/3rds of 23rd btwn 6th/7th Aves. Plan for tomorrow, finish that block and move onto 23rd btwn 5th/6th Aves, so MOVE THEM CARS! Saw 3 towed today (though secretly I was pleased...2 belong to a sleaze bag mechanic who parks his resales on our block!)
Again, any word on 21st?

OK, "No Parking signs" on 22nd St. btwn 7th Ave and 5th Ave for work TUESDAY (03.13.07). CB7 says work should be done down to 3rd Ave by the end of the week, then they will start on 23rd St. btwn 3rd Ave & 7th Ave...more to follow.

Still no update from DOT to CB7 on 22nd St. 23rd St, btwn 3rd/7th Aves in next on their list. I will let folks know as soon as I do

Call into CB7, but road work has been delayed AND looks as if 23rd St. will also get a repaving. More to follow...
CB7 has informed me that DOT will begin street "milling" (tearing off the layers) on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 and will finish repairs and repaving to 22nd Street, between 3rd Avenue and 7th Avenue, within 2 weeks.
Pain in the butt for a while for the cars and neighbors, but the pot holes on 22nd St. have been a pain on our cars, bicycles and rear ends for a long time.
If anyone has questions, PM me and I'll ask CB7.

Bleedin woke me up this morning with their 7am announcements that cars will be towed......
Then of course one car remained right in fronta my house and needed to be towed.
Ah well I needed to show up in time for work at least once this year.

I also saw one car parked almost in the middle of the road. I wonder what that was about. Maybe they moved it there and then left it temporarily. -
6th and 7th actually but they did both blocks.

They are working on 21st next (post-snow/ice) then to 23rd. Look out for more fun!
