I think the hair salon Boy Luv Girl on Atlantic Ave. is relatively new - was thinking about trying it for hair color but I can't find any reviews of it anywhere. Has anyone tried it?

I use Image on Joralemon (between Court and Clinton). Mya (the owner) and Emmanuel seem to be the best -- Emmanuel is particularly good with blond hair and Mya with browns. I used to go to John Frieda on Madison Ave, to Bergdorf's and to other high-priced Manhattan shops and got fed up with the prices and the schedules, and have been very happy with Image.

I LOVE Hector at Femmina. Fabio is the owner - he and Hector used to work at the big-name salons in Manhattan - and he's terrific for cuts. Everyone there is like a family - so sweet and surprisingly down-to-earth! - and the atmosphere is just fantastic. They offer coffee, cappuccino, espresso, wine, water or whatever you want when you come in. They're very acommodating and do a really first-class job. I'd recommend them without any ounce of hesitation. :-)

Hey--could someone cite prices for haircuts and/or hilights at these salons? I'm from Providence, RI, and have been completely blown away by prices in Manhattan--am hoping prices in Brooklyn are more reasonable...Thanks!

Anna at Boy Luv Girl is awesome. Best and least expensive highlights I've had in NYC - and I've gone to some pretty expensive places. I won't go anywhere else from now on. Four stars.

I've been going to Aaron at boy luv girl for about a year. he's extremely talented and adorable!!!

I recently took my boyfriend to him for a cut. My bf for lack of better words, has a jew fro. Aaron did a great job of giving him a trendy, non faux hawk du. i highly recommend him.
