probably at universal video on PPW/16th street,
anyone know where i can get a slide scanned and turned into a printed photo? -
Someone just mentioned that there's a place that does this on 7th ave near Union somewhere. Sorry that's all I know.

The place at 319 Flatbush between Prospect & 7th does VHS to DVD transfers. I think their phone number is 718-399-8530.

Thank you.

Hi - did anyone use the VHS-to-Digital service? I'm looking to do it and would like a local place. Found a web site that will do it for $29.95 per hour. Thanks!

So I took my tapes to the photo store on Flatbush (Grand Army Photo) between Park and Prospect. The guy was super nice (even though the place was trashed). The "owner" sent them out to another guy who has the special equipment to convert VHS to digital/DVD. In the end I got 7 DVDs, the quality was good and I'm happy with results. Going to give him more next week.
As a side note- the place is closing up at the end of the month. He says the industry has changed and so has the location. Sorry I found him just as he is closing. -

What was the cost? Thanks.

What format? I have hi8/dig8 and want to toss all of that off to DVD for now. Did you get the tapes back? If so, was the quality of the tape still decent? If that guy is doing a good job, I'd love to send the work to him before he closes.
That is the pace right next to the relocated Royal Video. I miss Video Edge so much after looking for a movie for my class for 20 minutes in their Drama section.
Blah, blah, blah. Price and format would be great to know. -
The cost for 5 tapes came to $130. He had never done tapes to digital (MPEG-2) before, said it was a lot of work. I asked that only the actually filming was transfered over, cause I know there was blank tape at the end.
I did get the tapes back, but haven't watched them. I would assume the tapes are fine, none were that old.
Planning to take some more tapes there just to finish it off and get everthing over to digital. He will also transfer to DVD format.
Howdy, Stranger!
