    Well said.

So there is already empty space available in this building? And yet a community institution that has been there for 30 years must leave so there can be more empty space? That's really sad.
  • Are you confusing me with Joe Berman?
Obviously you must think that I own more buildings than I actually do. I'm flattered, but really warped.
If you have a problem with me, just say it.
I like this forum, because your quick responses really are quite fascinating.

What's really sad, is that there are 3 leases out for that storefront, and you guys are arguing about my business. Hmmm?
  • then take down the for rent sign.

looking forward to seeing who you've got lined up.

oh, and i have a problem with you, yes.
and in 24 hours, i could produce a list of about 15 others who feel the same. without blinking.
  • The for rent sign does not go down until leases are signed. Any businessman knows that.
As for whatever grievances you believe you have against me, well that's for you to sort out.
  • thank you for the suggestion. i think after your actions of throwing out a tenant of 30 years, when the downstairs has been sitting empty for months is deplorable and i do plan to do something about it.

and i realize that the sign does not come down until the lease is signed. that's why i said it. i will not believe a word you say till the sign is down and somebody moves in. saying there are 3 leases out seems a likely excuse.

    not to mention odd.
  • It looks like it will be a kidville.http://www.kidville.com/ParkSlope/home/welcome2.asp

Methinks that they have some deep pockets.
  • These whiny posts are really pretty deplorable. What right does anyone here have to tell private business owners what to do with their property?

Business owners are under no obligation to sustain loss-making ventures, no matter how much you think it "contributes" to your neighborhood. If you don't like how 7th ave is turning out then maybe you should move.
  • interesting theory, but i don't agree with you at all evilbert. i don't think the answer is to get up and move.

and this kotsonis is an out and out liar. if you will note on March 7th above he replied to me saying that there were 3 leases out for the empty storefront below the dance studio that he kicked out. you know what, i walked by it last night...that would be May 10th and there is a for rent sign in the window below the dance studio.

so that means either all 3 leases fell through or that kotsonis is a liar.

personally from everything i've heard of him from his tenants on that block of 7th/union and from others, i'm not the only one who feels that way. i also know that a few of the tenants are thinking of not renewing their leases and i am personally helping them find new places in the neighborhood for relocation.

if as a resident i'm not able to complain about dilinquent landlords, i'm not sure who should.

sitting back and saying i should move is a pretty gross comment in and of itself.
