My friend had an acura and lives in coop city in the bronx and her lights got stolen three times before she got rid of the car altogether. there was no way to lock the lights.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Just luv the pics - thanks. Just another way of gawd telling you got too much freaking money - and quite clearly another great anti-SUV statement to boot!
I love Brooklyn - hahahahahahaha! -

THAT'S an SUV?!?!?! Looks more like a Honda Civic or a Suburu Outback stationwagon at best, not an SUV. Let's not give the perps any credit. The van parked behind it probably has gets fewer miles-per-gallon. -
Well, it IS an SUV, but you're right, it's an SUV based on a car platform and most likely has the same V-6 that Nissan/Infinity puts in many of their vehicles.

Hilarious, this situation must be unbelievable to you yuppies. I grew up in Park Slope (on a block that's now worth more than the whole of some countries) and still remember a time just 10-20yrs ago when parking a brand new car of ANY make on the street was just asking for it to be victimized. I still can't get used to the number of new cars parked on the street around PS and PH..
Imagine waking up at 3am to your father yelling out the window cuz his K5 Blazer is rolling up the block. Now that's ghetto. -
All of you who derived laughs from the theft probably don't own cars. The amounts of money that car owners have to put into their cars, new or old, is staggering, and often stressful. It's amazing that the guy was so calm about the stolen wheels.

i don't really understand why having a car = being a yuppie. and all cars are new at some point or another; i'd love to have a new car over my 1994 altima.

and i also don't really understand why you think it's hilarious that bad things happen to the people who've moved into this neighborhood long after you did. -

Thank you. My point, exactly. -

If you park it on the street. Once you park it in a garage then it does equal yuppie. -

Interesting. What if it's the beat-up van of a tradesperson parked in a garage at night? Or a 19-year-old's black SUV bought on a no-money-down deal parked in a garage? Or grandma's 1987 volvo parked in a garage?

there are always exceptions.

Suppose it's a nicely contrived conspiracy hatched by parking garages to increase their cash flow by increasing the number of customers using their facilities.
When I looked at those pics, quite honestly, I broke out in laughter. I know the owner of the vehicle was in shock and anger. I have seen many things in Prospect Heights for many, many years, but that is the first time I ever saw an Infiniti SUV on milk crates in daylight.
Prospect Height was a gr8 place to live when I moved here. The neighborhood changed. It got bad. Now it's getting better. The problem is ppl are getting pushed out and those that are moving in can afford the higher prices. Things may get ugly because of it. -
