Redberi

is it closed? that place made no sense to me. it had a really high price point without significant variety. at least pieces has a lot of stuff and a great sale season.
also, the sales staff at redberi was damned bitchy. I never could figure out how they paid their rent. -
My wife always liked the store for certain pieces.
-
I do know people that shop there. I just don't see how they could buy enough stuff, and enough variety, for the rent to be feasible.
but, well, to each their own. -
I really liked the store - got some super cute things there on sale. Otherwise out of my budget. But I saw the owners pulling things off the shelves and went to the door and they saw me but totally ignored me. They looked pissed. There's still Blueberi in dumbo.
-
i really like this store, too. they were always really nice to me - but it was $$$.
-
Whenever I see a clothing shop like that open up, I always think they will be in business until they use up their SBA loan.
-
I hate to be the one to impede baseless speculation on anyone's part, but I know for certain that redberi is renovating.
-
Good, the wife will be happy.

Last night I saw a sign on the door that said "SPA VACATION-- Back on March 17 (?)" Note that I was walking quickly so don't know if the 17th is correct, but I don't think it's closed for good. I found a couple of nice things there but the service was not great.

I would take Steve's word on this. -
I could go for a spa vacation myself
-
I AM going for a spa vacation myself! Well, a yoga vacation actually but compared to my life here it will feel like a spa.

I want to know what's up with Pieces, and how that place stays in business. Their prices are absolutely redonk... and their clothes don't look like much of anything in my opinion--I'm sure that they'd look better if they didn't have 90 dollar wife beaters which are nothing more than fruit of the loom tanks that have had their original tags replaced with silkscreened *indie designer brands* splotched in the backs.
(yes, i'm hating on that store, but everytime i go in there, the quality of the clothes do not live up to the price tags, and i just wonder who wastes their money on the clothes there)
Redberi is open though, no? -
I kinda think redberi and pieces are in the same category of redonk and both have price points that are totally beyond what I'd expect. but, to their credit, the pieces sidewalk sale is always worth the trouble. the redberi sale rack? not so much.
-
when does pieces have their sidewalk sale? is it a big annual, or seasonal thing? ill check it out. i moved here last july, and haven't seen any such sales. do you predict they will have one soon, now that its getting warm?
i'm with you on redberi, althugh i did buy a pair of super cute shoes there for like 40bux on sale. but yea, they're redonk as well. -
I think it's twice a year? they put boxes of stuff out - I know ppl who've purchased betsey johnson dresses for $20 at that sale (best deal I've heard so far - esp. for a cute little black dress).
-
ooo private message me if you happen to hear when it is, because i might miss it! and then maybe pieces will be good in my book!!!!

I lived in the Redberi building (the only and probably first white boy to live there in decades) until this past winter when the new owners (of Bergen Bagel fame) decided to kick everyone out in order to yuppify the place. All the residents are now gone I believe, and there was talk that they were going to turn the corner store, former Arabic deli, into a bagel place a la Bergen.
