TRADE YOUR ART FOR MEDICAL/DENTAL CARE

Hello Everyone:

FYI--There's a program and Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn that allows artists (anyone from spoken word artists, to acrobats, to singers, to muscians) to trade their art for medical care. Its based on the old fashioned barter system. For example, if you're a singer, you can sing in the lobby of the hospital for 1 hour and qualify for a free medical visit. if you're a painter, you can teach kids in Each hour of "barter" literally amounts to 1 free medical visit. Or, you can pay a small amount of cash (it goes on a sliding scale) and qualify for a free medical visit and prescriptions. If you're interested, the program is called "Artists Access." Its for residents of New York City.
