Wedding at the Picnic House
I need help again!
I am getting married at the Picnic House in Prospect Park next October and we need a caterer. The Picnic House makes you choose between a list of caterers and I was wondering if any of you have held or been to any events at the Picnic House and what you thought of the caterer?
Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions!
(I am also posting this in the PS and Brooklyn boards)

I had my reception there in 2001 and used Moveable Feast. They were great. No complaints. They handled the food (including having some pre-wrapped kosher meals for a few orthodox relatives) and the food was delicious.
It's a great place for a wedding.
PM me if you want to talk more about it. -
My brother's wedding was at the picnic house a few years ago. They used the Cleaver Company and that turned out really well. I was at another wedding this year catered by the same company, and thought the food was very good (for a wedding).

The company also has a small restaurant called the Green Table in Chelsea Market. -
I'm getting married there too- next May
I have talked to a lot of the caterers.
Most seemed really nice.
I am trying to narrow it down.
Movable Feast and Naturally Delicious seem to be the ones every one seems to use.
If you want to use a caterer off their list- there are some requirements and a fee.
pm me if you want

I've been to many events catered by the Moveable Feast, and the food was terrific and the staff was excellent. This family run and owned business has been around for over 25 years. Its nice to see a local business thrive, when all too often the little guy gets swallowed up by the larger more commercial competition. Hello All! And thank you!
I spoke with Movable Feast but have since lost touch with them. They are well with in my price range but seem a bit hard to pin down.
We are really trying to do everything Brooklyn - we met in Brooklyn, live in Brooklyn and even bought the engagement ring in Brooklyn. We would really like see what we can do with Movable Feast.
I am hoping to speak with Joyce Bakery about the wedding cake!
I have also spoken with Raging Skillet and Steven Brown. Has anyone ever experienced either one of them? They also both seem pretty good but neither of them are located in Brooklyn. We are both a bit obsessed with Brooklyn! -
Subject: already have a wedding photographer?
I know I just put a post promoting my show up but I saw this about weddings and was wondering if you already had your photographer set up? I do weddings you can check my stuff out at www.danielkrieger.com

Good for you for keeping it in Brooklyn, support your local merchants! A friend of mine used Moveable Feast for his wedding and they were excellent. I don't have any input on Raging Skillet. And if a cake doesn't work out at Joyce I know someone who bakes amazing cakes and has done some beautiful ones for weddings.

Subject: Two Boots
For what it's worth, my daughter had her wedding there in 2000 and used Two Boots. We liked it. They weren't on the original catering list, but they were able to get approval. So if you have a restaurant you love, and they are not listed, it may still be possible to get them as the caterer. They would have to go through an approval process. -
I got married at the boat house and used "Naturally Delicious". They are great. The food was awesome, and the service was un-real. If they are an option I strongly suggest them. We got all kinds of compliments from our guests.
In meeting with all the options that the Boathouse had, Naturally Delicious was by far the most professional and most impressive in many ways. -

I work near the Chelsea Market and eat at both the Cleaver Company (they serve lunch boxes) and at the Green Table. Their food is delicous and healthy and their vegetarian options are creative and not an afterthought.
