Beso Crap-o

I've always thought the service was slooooow at Beso, especially at brunch. It always seemed as though the wait staff weren't assigned tables so much as whoever happened to be wandering nearby would pitch in.

Every time I've walked by, the place is completely empty. Is it a brunch place? Must be a front for illicit/illegal operations....

I was there 2 weeks ago for brunch. It was good then.
-
been here numerous times for brunch including last weekend and it was terrific, as always.

Weird!! I am here to tell you the place was a disaster when we went this last time. Maybe it was just a bad shift? I asked 3 different people for a refill on my coffee and finally asked one of them a second time before I got it. The bloody mary I got was weak and had the lamest, saddest piece of celery you ever saw in your life. And I still maintain that the place looked like a sty. The walls need to be hosed down. The bar was a wreck.....

Beso never made it on to my list. There are so many restaurants in PS and such a short lifetime to try them all!! At this point I have just Lined out Beso. I will try one of the current new places that will open this week. I am looking forward to the re opening of the Bocaccio Grill/Cafe Moderno on 9th bewteen 4th and 5th..they are working on it.

After a friend and I went there on a Sunday at 2 PM and were asked to leave by a waiter, who said they were closed between brunch/lunch and dinner, I scratched this joint off. I need my restaurants and cafes to provide me with food and beverage whenever I am hungry, which is always.

I'm a big Beso fan - its never treated me wrong. Just went there 2 weeks ago on a very busy Friday night. Service was excellent; food was excellent. Brunch is my favorite - go for the coconut milk pancakes.

Oh my. I used to like this place, but I just had lunch there and it was shockingly bad. Food, service, everything. And now I'm having an allergic reaction to something I ate. Is it possible they use MSG?

Beso has been hit or miss. Sometimes we have the most wonderful meal there and sometimes it is frustratingly bad. Although the food is generally good to great, the service is poor to good. Once I had to wait 20 minutes to get my check. Asking multiples times for a refill is the standard.
The main reason that we go back is that the crowds are not bad and the food is a nice change. However, Palo Santo seems to be getting more of our business.
