looking for a 1br near the F train...help! — Brooklynian

looking for a 1br near the F train...help!

Ive checked craigslist and dont seem to be getting any apartments listed by the f train in park slope. I need a 1br and dont want to spend more than $1500...is that realistic? Thanks in advance.

  • Nope..That seems unrealistic unless you want to be on the smith st station and even on that end it is prob more than 1500 for a one bedroom.
  • is the area by the f train stops a good locale? also whats a typical price for a 1br...thanks for the response.
  • f the f, go with the q/b or 2,3 lines in ph side :p.
  • actually B or F is good for what Im in need of...
  • if you can do the b go look for 1 br in prospect heights. you should be able to get that price.
  • I've had two 1BR apartments for 1300 and 1375 near the 15th Street/PP stop
  • No it's not realistic. Not on the F. try near the R - or out in kensington. be prepared for a crap apt at that price, too. sorry! median 1 BR price in the slope around the F train is something like 1800.
  • I pay $1100 for a ground floor (in a 3 story building) 1 bedroom about twice as close to the 4th Ave. & 9th Street F stop as it is to the Smith and 9th (read: Gowanus). Grotty, noisy, polluted semi-industrial neighborhood, and it's a railroad layout, i.e. no interior doors except to the bathroom and closet, and no hallway between the LR, BR, and kitchen, just archways.

That being said, it's fairly big and decently furnished, and I doubt it's exceptionally cheap for the immediate neighborhood. Of course, when my lease is up in November, my landlady will probably have finally sold the place (it's been for sale for at least 6 months, at a crazy-high price) and the rent is guaranteed to go up more than the $150 a month it went up LAST November.

    Just FYI
