When I was a kid I lived on 5th street between 5 and 6 ave, 378A to be exact.
WWII came and we kids left for the duration. In 1946 we played stickball every day for the summer. Great times, few cars on street, and mucj beer in evenings!
Now I am amazed at the million dollar houses on 5th street.
Has the old neighborhood been updated? Is it really a select neighborehood, or just too many residents? I understand that the houses were built in 1901.
I live in AZ but I miss Brooklyn, especiall prospect park and coney island

Yes, it is. You would not recognize 5th Avenue today (not entirely sure that's a good thing). Gone are many of the $.99 stores - they have been replaced by many new restaurants and bars.

The proximity to Manhattan and the park and people being priced out of Manhattan (and now, sadly, of this neighborhood too) sparked a huge resurgance in the area.

I miss my old block mostly because it was such a family area
and now its 3 singles to every home
