Dissertation editors?

Hi all:

Does anyone ever used any local editors for their dissertation or manuscript? I've seen ads for a couple, but wondered if anyone had recommendations. Ideally the person would have sociology/CJ and statistical expertise in addition to writing/editing skills.

Thanks![/code]

  • can't offer help, other than sympathy. I'm going through the same slog presently. good luck finishing up!
  • thanks! good luck to you too. it's a tough slog.

it seems even more important since i'm writing about how to help the 'junkies' that the NIMBY Slopers are de-humanizing all over this board. *sigh* They're welcome tto live on my NS block anytime.
  • Why aren't you 2 reading each other's papers? That said PM me and I'll see if I can help.

I went through this ordeal and formatting was almost the end of me and everyone around me. I paid someone very highly recommended to do it and it still didn't pass the graduate format review the first time around! I finally just downloaded the format manual, closed the blinds, annihilated a large bag of Funyuns and Mountain Dew (jet fuel) and tinkered until it was done. I then read the whole thing out loud (not in one sitting). My background is Sociology and if I can offer up any insights, I'd be happy to. In the meantime, I'll see if I can get some contacts for the rest. We actually weren't allowed to use anyone but all the quantitative folks did. Smart!
