  • I signed up last week and the organizer said they need about 10 more people to get started. I think the games will be at 7pm, which might work better for some people. I was out in Manhattan last night and saw a ton of kickball players at the bar I was at, they looked like they were having a great time. Let's show 'em how much better kickball is in Brooklyn!
  • Yeah, we were supposed to start over a month ago, but they keep pushing it back b/c there aren't enough players. If we don't start by 2 weeks from now, I'm getting my $$ back.
  • Did anyone contact the guy running the kickball league to find out what the deal is? I havent heard anything and its almost July.

    This sucks...
  • yeah he's pretty MIA. I'm thinking about resigning...which is a bummer b/c I was looking forward to it. But they seem to not have anough ppl for a league.

I'll keep you posted if I find out anything...please do the same.
  • Bummer... I hope you guys can get your money back. If you still are in the kickball spirit we could try to gather up some Brooklynians for a game. I'm still totally into some pick-up games.

    Any interest?
  • I dont have anything else going on Monday nites so im wiling to wait a little longer.

I just think its rude for them to keep us out of the loop when they took our money over a month ago.
  • A conversation I had recently prompted me to search here for kickball. Found this thread, but I seems to have died out.

Any updates on kickball leagues in Prospect Park?
  • It died, Not enough ppl signed up :(
  • I got an email from Coleman, the guy running the Brooklyn league, about 2 weeks ago and he said he still needs about 10 people to sign up so we can play, and that if we get enough people, they'll start in September. If they don't get enough people (and I don't know why they can't - I would think a lot of people in the area would be interested) then we have the option of playing in Manhattan or getting a refund. I don't think we were charged just yet - there was something upon sign-up that said we wouldn't be charged until the league was formed.

I think they could use some marketing help - not sure why he doesn't post this info on Craig's List or in local bars. Another idea is to have people from the Manhattan league wearing the kickball shirts stand at the subway stops from 4th Avenue to Church Avenue and give out postcards about the league. Seeing people in shirts would get people interested and asking more info. Or send a press release to the local papers to drum up interest.
  • If anyone is still interested in kickball, ZogSports is starting a league in Prospect Park that will play on Sunday afternoons. They're also starting a touch football league at Brooklyn Tech on Sundays. I don't know what the status is of the WAKA league.

Check www.zogsports.org for all the info.
  • Hey peeps - any word on this happening this year? Me + some friends in the area are into it.
