24-hour diners?

I end up going to the bageltique on 5th, but they're not that good anymore since the new ownership. If City Sub were open late I'd be in heaven.
-
I'm in the South Slope, so Daisey's is in a perfect location for me. It would be nice to have options other than diners and pizza, though. (I'm vegan, so I'd love to see some late night Chinese or Mexican places open for my greasy snacking needs.)
Accordingly, I'd like to see a diner with more vegan options: fries get old quick. So, some Chinese or Thai appetizers would be great. -
Albaz is my go-to for late night eats. They're on Flatbush by the Q train in the back of the newstand next to Brownstone Billiards, and they're open 24 hours. They make a mean cheeseburger and cheesesteak. They have kebab type stuff too, and all the standard deep fried stuff. Not exactly healthy food, but who eats healthy food at 4 am?

Blue Ribbon on 5th Ave - open to 4:00 AM on Fri and Sat
More all night diners? I don't want more "more" as in plural or many - maybe just one great one serving food like Momofuku in the East Village or Veselka in the East Village -
7th ave donut shop on ninth street, the greasiest diner ever. There is nothing like it after a drunken night of happenings.
-
The Grecian diner on the corner of 2nd and 7th is open all night. I used to go there when I lived on third. It's great to be able to order eggs at any hour of the day or night.

I second. If one is lucky you can get donuts right out of the oven around 4.am. Frigging delicious donuts. -
George's Diner - Cortelyou Rd and Coney Island Avenue - open 24 hours.
-
Daisy's if we're in a group.
Blue Ribbon if it's a smaller, deeper pocket bunch.
5th & Sackett has replaced Bageltique for me when I need a 4amReuben..
I'd love to see a place with 24hr paninis, salads, and basic rice and bean veggie options..basically, gimme Dojo on St. Mark's and I'll move right in! -
Katina's has either re-opened or is about to re-open. 12th + 7th ave.
-
Where is Daisy's?
Katina's is Teh Suck!
Blue Ribbon or the Donut Shop. Depends on money and how drunk/picky I am. -
Daisy's is on 5th ave between 9th and 10th streets.
Flexichick..I agree that Blue Ribbon vs the Donut Shop are 25% mood and 75% wallet as far as a decision on destination. The Blue Ribbon is wonderful on weeknights late if ya have the money. -
I second Daisey's (5th between 9th & 10th), mostly for convenience as it's usually on my way home. But they have always been good to me, at any hour, and that 1am grilled cheese and milkshake is indispensible. (Damn, now I am hungry.)
[Also Daisey's is conveniently right next to that block's other 24-hour happening spot, Neergaard Pharmacy, for those, uh, midnight toothpaste runs.] -
unfortunately, the Grecian Corner at 5th St and 7th Ave is opened 24-7.
it sucks big-time. -

Apparently, from what I heard, the Owner's from Purity Diner took it over. I'll bet it will be 100% better when re-opened.

That'd be sweet for me!
One of the things I miss from living in Manhattan are 24-hour delis on just about every corner. Maybe I'll try to plant the seed at the 11th St. Deli, whose owners have been renovating the 12th St. Deli since the New Year. I'm sure part of the problem is that usually if I'm out that late I'm getting out of the cab or the subway on 8th Ave., where nothing is open (except of course the 12th Street Bar which often stays open past 5 on weekends—which can suck if you live on that block and want to go to sleep before then).
I also miss super late slice joints. The La Mia Pizza on 1st Ave. and 77th St. is forever etched in my mind for staying open until like 3 on the weekends. (What states they must have seen my younger self in!) How late is Smiling open?
I love the Donut Luncheonette. Greasy and cheap. Katina's was horrid before it shut down. I think that nasty-looking chicken/pizza/burger place on 5th (around 11th?) is open late, but I thinkI survived it more than enjoyed it. -
5th Ave Bageltique has indeed become awful since the sell...
Donut on 7th is open 24 hours? -
The Purity has always owned Katrina's. They list goes Purity on Union and 7th (deceased), The Purity on 7th & 7th, The Purity on Underhill by Dean and Katrina's on 12th & 7th. And yes, 7th Ave Donuts has been open for 24/7/365 since the Dutch bought Park Slope from the Canarsies for $24. Not owned by The Purity by the way.

The purity on 7th street was sold to the owners of Gothic Cabinet Craft about 7 years ago. Gus was trying to sell it, katrina's, to them for a while. The last I had heard was that they were close to a deal, but Gus backed out. Maybe it's back on again. Gus still owns the Purity on Underhill and he also owns the diner on the corner of dean and Atlantic, across the street from the YWCA. -

Is that the dinner on Atlantic across from Walgreens? Are they any good? I see cops eating there sometimes.

Another vote for Daisy's, from me. They are always nice, the food is decent, and it is cheap.

I love Purity on 7th. I wish it were closer to my apartment. I would live in it.
Howdy, Stranger!
