Spring is here! — Brooklynian

Spring is here!

Yes i know, it's only felt like spring for about 2 hours.

However, 75 degrees on Monday? ...I think it's finally to say

So in order to break away from the issues we address on this message board..

*lifts up sparkling cider glass*

Here's to warm spring days in our neighborhoods!

Here's to meeting the neighborhood newbies that were hibernating this winter!

Here's to a more GREEN conscious lifestyle in 2007 and beyond!

Here's to being safe and looking out for our old and new neighbors!

Here's to Beautiful scenic walks around Pratt's sculpture garden, Clinton Avenue's blossoms and old mansions, Fort Greene Park and Bed Stuy's gorgeous blocks!

Here's to street fairs and bringing out the old rusty bikes and rollerblades!

Okay i'm done.
...As you can see, i'm happy that the sun is finally out and about. (Where's a sun emoticon when you need one)

If you're looking forward to Spring and Summer, going away on vacation, staying in Brooklyn and looking for what's new, what fun and where's the shade...shout it out in this post and let's get happy in the '07!

  • Hear hear!!! Cheers for that! Spring & Summer are the reason we endure the winters. The house tour is coming up, soccer is back in FT Green Park, the restaurants are setting up their sidewalk seating, and the outdoor movies (Dumbo) and concerts (Propsect park) will soon be scheduled. No reason to be bored and uninspired! Get out there people!!! Okay, I think I should sit down now.
  • Ooooh, all of this sounds wonderful, Guvna!

I am definately looking forward to outdoor movies and the house tour.

Make Music New York is also coming up, Fort Greene Fest (in the park) is a must for everyone in the neighborhood.

There will be plenty of activities for the kids in the neighborhood

...And i'm intrigued by the idea of a beer garden...
  • Outdoor movies at Habana Outpost, too...nothing like hanging out in their lot, eating a Cuban sandwich and drinking a Six Point. However, I do hope their food quality is a little better this year. I feel like it dropped off a bit in the second half of the summer last year.
  • Habana is having their street fair in May, Summertime in Fort Greene/Clinton Hill is sooner than I thought.

Bifteck, where can we find a listing of their movies for the summer?
  • I absolutely love this post. Yay, spring! Can't wait to explore my new neighborhood with the glow of the summer upon it. Cheers! 8)
  • skirts, skirts and more skirts!!!! women definitely bring the Spring!
  • Oh my gosh, it's all about skirts and long flowing sun DRESSES this spring and summer! Can we ladies toast to a trends that flatter us all!

I still need to check out the local vintage stores.

Someone needs to bring a juice bar to Myrtle Avenue to complement all the great restaurants we have, too.
  • I wear skirts & dresses all summer long... and spring, winter and fall too, for that matter! But it's more fun in the summer, of course. I have four new summer dresses to try out that I've bought since the close of last summer, so I'm very excited to wear them.

Move With Grace, I remember there being a listing on their website in past seasons, but there doesn't seem to be a schedule there now. I imagine they're working on the lineup now and will probably have something available around May 12, the day they open.
  • I'm really hoping to see a lot of short pleated skirts this summer. IMHO, those are the absolute sexiest pieces of clothing a woman can wear.
  • I just got a bike. Warm weather means I get to use it. Heh.
