Dept. of Sanitation's Spring Cleaning events - carpool?

The Dept. of Sanitation is once again putting on several weekend events where you can go to certain drop-off points and dispose of electronics, clothing, and linens, and also get free compost and composting bins.

I don't have a car, but I have two electronic things that I need to get rid of. There's a limit of five electronic things per vehicle, so ideally I would team up with someone who's in it for the compost, or who doesn't have too much electronic stuff of their own.

Here are the details:

  • There's a drop-off event (Earth Day!) near the Stone House in Park Slope (JJ Byrne park) on Sunday too, if you don't want to drive to the Queens border. More info: www.recyclethisnyc.org.

Good to know as I would usuallyjust drive to the Queens border, open my car door and throw the junk out.

    Thanks!
  • Thanks so much, modoki! I think I can take the stuff over in my granny cart tomorrow--that will save us a lot of time.
  • there's no event at GAP this year?
  • I didn't see one on the schedule. However, I did go to the thing modoki mentioned, and we got rid of four things. Hooray!
