sprite, how did I never notice your Order of Merlin, First Class??
-
So wait...next week or was next week this week?
-
For what it's worth... I am going to announce a board-wide happy hour for next Friday (May 11). Soda was the plan, but we'll see how that plays out. We could mash up this happy hour with a game night, but only if the location has a bar, or is at least BYOB.
-
sounds like fun, you guys. i can't play worth a damn, but i'll be a good cheerleader...
-
...Is pool the only game being played, or are there other games available?.... (said the kid who's hopeless at pool.)

You were probably distracted by the goat.
-
Ooo, I didn't realize they have ping-pong! I haven't played that in years...

Scrabble's more my proficiency, but if people promise not to laugh... -
no, queen, you're not exploiting this the right way...
you and i should play a game against each other. our combined ineptitude will create a surge of sympathy (nay, i say "pity") from the other HH members, and they will ply us with drinks to make us forget our incompetence. it'll be the biggest ruse since the Trojan Horse! but don't tell anyone -- it'll be our little secret. -

Your ideas intrigue me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

so, speaking of air hockey, you would think that the guy with the eccentric head sock caught my eye first, but the compelling question for me is:
what's that weird circular spot on the redhead?
-
A really small yarmulke.
-
ringworm
-
Has anyone called Brownstone to see if they are still letting people bring their own beer?
Has a date and time been set?
I can't play pool for shit...ping pong & air hockey , I haven't played in years so I am a little rusty. -

Well, 'next week' has won by a considerable margin, so I guess that next week it is.
Now we just gotta get more info from DH on his plans... -
the BF plays air hockey and ping pong. I told him I'd only go if he finally registers. Damn lurker!
For the hora de felizidad, If we can't do Soda, then I vote Mooney's, I haven't been there in months! -
Can a modly person change the poll to reflect that next week will be the game night? I guess that the question now is whether to mash it up with DH's proposed HH.
I spoke with the fine folks at BB and they said that we can no longer BYOB - they don't have the liquor in just yet, but they do have a variety of beers. -
What is the difference between liquor and beer? Don't they both give a person a buzz?
Also , what is the difference between a DH happy hour and the one that was being planned my the members here?
I thought the DH people and the Brooklynian people are on the same message board. -
whu??? just beer and only beer? sorry, kids. i'm out.
-
LOL Shishkab!
Carry a purse big enough to hold your own stash....just buy a soda from them and add your liquor to it.....I'm sure they won't check a purse.....a backpack would look suspicious , but a purse no way.
Plus , you look too innocent for anyone to suspect you of smuggling in booze
-
oh ... my can of diet coke and whyfi's flask of soco ......
whyfi - pm me the modly hookup you require -
Sorry to be dropping in and out when I started the thread, but I've been busy!
Anywho, next week it is, but... any thoughts about the DH happy hour and possibly combining the two? Doesn't seem like the greatest idea, with the lack of beverage options at Brownstone... Maybe those inclined to game could do so at BB and those looking for something more laid-back can gather at Mooney's? It seems like we usually play for about 2 hours, at most; we can make our way across the street when we're done, and we won't even have to stop off at Carneviento - we'll have had our WC 8) -
Is Daily Heights coming to this Happy Hour?

If we combine both, then we're looking at a late night shindig.
Also, if it's a board-wide Happy Hour, then a weekend would allow more time for people to attend from other nabes.
Logisticly, I think we should keep them appart. There's no reason we can't do a game night on the week day and still have a happy hour on the weekend.
My 2 cents
Howdy, Stranger!
