Bodega Kitty Needs Home
This story made me so upset--I hope that someone reads this and can find Julie a good home: http://www.gothamist.com/2007/05/03/store_cats_good.php#comments

Why are people going after bodega cats? Aren't they as New York as you can get?
-
There are tons of people out there who believe the world should conform to fit their desires. Cats in bodegas keep vermin out and they do it without chemicals. They're clean animals and don't park themselves in the deli case. I'd much rather have a cat in a store than pesticides sprayed all over. I sure hope she finds a home, she's a good mouser!

seriously. what an asshat. I've seen so many mice in stores that DON'T have bodegas, it's disgusting. because they don't care what they shit on. cats are super clean - they don't shit outside of a litter box unless they're making a point - like, clean out my fucking litter box.
