Well that took 20 minutes.
I don't like to eat food that's hothothot either. Plus I am the World's ... Slowest ... Eater, so most of what I eat is what most people would call "cold", anyway.

    knock knock
    anecdotal information collector here!
    :D
do you happen to know if you were bottle or breast fed as a bebe?
There's a theory spinning out here in Anecdotia that breast-fed babies prefer not-hot food as adults (like that body temperature leche their mamas gave them), and bottle-fed babies prefer hotter temperature stuff as adults.
    Me, breast-fed tepid coffee drinker.

veets, I agree with you about tasting more in a spicy blend when it's not murder-hot.

[If this gets any response, I promise to moderate it over to the Lounge with the OT part of the thread.]
  • Galatoire's for dinner. Old school, ladies in hats kind of place. Men need jackets, but they have a rack of them for you to borrow if you don't bring your own. Food is French Creole. Let the waiter order for you and be prepared to eat for a long long time!

i love uglesich's but i'm pretty sure it is indeed closed, not stemming so much from katrina as from the owner wanting to retire (and being mugged too many times) and no one wanting to take it over. i could be wrong though. i'm gonna have to order their cookbook and get to work on some of their recipes.
  • I went to NoNo for the first time last night. It's pretty much "have some meat with your salt". Really caustic and not much spice. And the crawfish that came as part of the sauces have a thawed texture and taste. It's not close to the food I had in New Orleans a few years ago.
