Populating Brooklyn Heights? — Brooklynian

Populating Brooklyn Heights?

Did any of you guys catch this week's Brooklyn Eagle? There's a whole spread about a certain Awaye Realty leasing out an ENTIRE BUILDING by the Promenade? I think it's all studios, but they seem pretty affordable. Does anyone know what's up? It said this is the first time the building was available to the public for leasing. What happened? Who had it first? This is Brooklyn Heights!

  • Here's a sample listing on their site. I don't consider a $2100 studio remotely affordable, but maybe that's just me.
  • I think this was or still is a JW building on Clark street. They have a big sign out front.
  • $2100 for a studio isn't anything to write home about. You can easily live a block away in a 1-bedroom for under $2000. If these dropped down to 1600-1700 I'd consider checking one out, although they don't list square footage unfortunately.
  • the carpets are different colors in the pictures so it seems like they may be pretty small concidering they needed to take a picture of a bed and then a picutre of a couch in a different apartment.
