3 train at Nostrand

People in Crown Heights don't walk at night. As soon as the sun sets, the neighborhood goes to sleep and wakes up at dawn.

If you are walking straight off the train down Nostrand on the north side, I would feel fine about it. There is a lot of activity. I walk up to the store at that time occassionally. But I know my neighbors who are hanging on the stoop then and I live one block off Nostrand,
But further into Crown Heights, where there are fewer people, I wouldn't do it by myself.
I am a woman, fyi -

You're kidding, right? On Nostrand Avenue on Friday and Saturday there are at least two clubs, between Sterling Place and Prospect Place, that keep things jumping until the wee hours. The 400 Club and Secrets have packed dance scenes with cars double parked out front all night long on the weekends.
On weekdays, things are a little slower but my wife and I have walked from the 3 stop to Park Place, about six blocks north of EPW at all hours of the night for the past 4 years without incidence.
I must say that according to the latest crime stats, assaults and robberies appear to up versus last year in the 77th pct, so this situation may be subject to change. -
I have walked from eastern pkway with no problem many times @ nights from hanging out on Nostrand ave to park pl. My daughter is a young adult and she works late on the weekends & weekdays and she prefers newyork av .

Thin white male here. Done that walk multiple times (to St. Johns) without issue, also from #2 a few more blocks down. Did not feel threatened.
At first I was a little worried because sometimes the area seems to turn into a young black male hangout around that time or a little before, but I quickly figured out that they weren't bad kids, and have had ZERO problems. Honestly, the only time I was worried about safety was when I inadvertently passed through Franklin and Lincoln around that time, fucking blatant drug dealing and stuff going on there, it really kinda sketched me out. So I don't go there anymore.
But Nostrand, haven't run into anything but friendly kids and (sometimes) grumpy old men. Mostly pleasant. -

Ditto here: my youngest son prefers NY Ave. He and other teens seem to be more subject to attack than us oldsters.
Howdy, Stranger!
