Atlantic Ave station is in PH? Come on, that's Fort Greene turf. We was robbed.

I'll give Atlantic/Pacific to any competing hood.... I'm close to the Brooklyn Museum and am within a 5 minute walk to the 2/3, 8 minutes to the Q/B and 4/5, 10 minutes to the and C, and a 15-min walk to the G. Very convenient, and just a fraction of the price of being further downtown. That's whatsup. -
Definitely agree on the point about price, but what about the added time? Dekalb is the first stop on the Q train in Brooklyn. You can get the 2,3,4,5,N,Q,R,B,D,A,C,G and J trains (am I forgetting one?) all within a short walk of central FG, and they're all within just 3-4 stops max of Manhattan. Having to ride all the way out to the museum definitely adds a good 10-15 minutes. Fort Greene takes the cake.
And to be perfectly honest, how is Bklyn Heights not better than either FG or PH? I have no loyalty to that hood, but come on, most of the stops are the first ones in Brooklyn and you can get every single train there. Definitely the best nabe in BK for trains, and arguably the best or at least in the top 2 or 3 in all of NYC. -
Unfortunately gotta say calling Atlantic PH is a stretch, as much as I appreciate the coverage. I lived in Fort Greene for a number of years more than a decade ago (pre-Target, pre-Atlantic Center, pre-BAM Cinema) and Atlantic Ave. was always a big plus.
That being said, trans in PH is really good and full of options...
On a related topic, I was talking to a longtime resident of PH the other day about how quickly the train traffic has changed in recent years. When I moved here 3+ years ago, getting off at Eastern PW at the end of the day involved just a handful of people getting off the train. Fast forward to today, and I often have to wait at the base of the stairs for my turn. And, my friend of PH for several decades said he used to play a "watch the white people disappear" game after Grand Army 10-15 years ago. Oh, but no more...even in a few years this has radically changed... -

Oh man, I remember that on the C. Lafayette used to be the borderline. And the last time I took it to Euclid, there were stragglers getting off at Ralph Ave. Times have changed! -

I hear ya, Escap. I always wanted to live in Ft Greene. Although if I moved now I might miss that Champs Elysees vibe we got down here along Grand Army, the Gardens, and the Museum. -
Escap, good to see you back on the board!
-
Thanks! Yeah, I was on hiatus for a while there, but now that I've got nothing to do again I've got time on my hands to return to the board.
