I gotta say, from my perspective in the orchestra (clarinet), it was thrilling to see how well the audience responded to the great performances and immediacy of the production.
Cosi fan Tutte is just such a spectacular piece of theater - funny, witty, slapsticy, sentimental, and cynical all wooven together seamlessly and bound up by the greatest music ever! Perfect for our times. -
Only two more performances remaining with full orchestra: Sundays, June 17 and 24.
For those who can't make it on those dates, there will also be performances with piano only on Tuesday evenings, June 12 and 19.
Yesterday's performance (June 9) went very nicely, and we had a large and supportive audience. The singers were great. The highlight for me was watching the many children enjoying their first opera. In particular, there was one little boy (about 4 years old) who seemed transfixed throughout. No doubt, he will score highly on all future standardized tests! -
Subject: Only one performance left!
Our final performance of Cosi Fan Tutte will be Sunday afternoon, June 24.
Yesterday's show had an overflow and very appreciative audience. Singers and orchestra played with great energy. I think there is a relationship between audience and performance quality. That's the beauty of live theater!
For those who can't make it on June 24, there will also be a performance with piano accompanyment only on Tuesday evening, June 19.
