Help me with my mutt! Seriously.

I originally posted this in the pets forum, but feel as if I might get some more help here:

My 15 year old mutt needs his nails clipped as well as a bath. He has a bad back leg so can't walk very far from Washington and St. Johns. Does anyone know of any nearby groomers other than posh pets? We have taken him there several times, but he gets sick after each visit. It is so weird. Anyway, he is a sweet, sweet dog and is dire need of a bit of grooming TLC. Any help would be great!

  • Let me know if you find anything out I need to get my kitties nails clipped!
  • LeeHo, i don't know if you have a good relationship with your vet clinic, but sometimes the veterinary technicians will do simple house calls like this one. i know you're interested more in a groomer, but your mentioning the limited mobility of your dog made me think of it. might be worth it to call your clinic and find out, that way you won't have to make the trip at all! i don't know if you'll be successful, but it may be worth a shot. i know lots of LVT's who make some extra money on the side doing just this sort of thing.

I'm confused, how come you can't do it yourself?

    PS. yours are very cute
  • There's a mobile grooming service in NYC! They come to you...
  • boygabriel: thank you. I tried to do it myself --the black + white one is really skittish and the grey one is super sweet so I figured I do it to her first. Well, I got as far as pressing the nail out and holding the clipper trying to be so so careful to avoid the quick, but before I could even snip, she freaked out and jumped off my lap. It was traumatizing for both of us, thats for sure. I rather let a professional handle it, especially for the crazy little one who doesn't even let people pet him! Not even me. Sad times.

RBG: Is this expensive? What are they called?
