The posts below disturb me the most. Even though we don’t have the facts of these posts and some contain only allegations and speculations, it’s disturbing to think that you could be walking down the street, minding your own business and enjoying your day, and suddenly your life is changed forever or ended by some nincompoop’s negligence.

1) hot tea spilled on infant?

-Did we ever find out what happened?

2) Hit & Run - Kent & Flushing Ave.

-Was the criminal ever caught?

3) PIT BULL ATTACK ON 5TH AVE.

-SUE, SUE, SUE!!! Do pit bulls always fit their sterotype or do people breed them to kill?

  • You must be a woman. Life is a risk. People today are safer than ever before, with perhaps the exception of the risk of violent crime in this post 1960s world.

If, with knowledge of this fact, you still feel disturbed you need to step back and tell yourself it's all in your head.
  • I am annoyed that people can run over others and let their dogs kill people's pets and get away with it.

I am intriqued by the woman comment. What do you mean by that? If you're calling me a sissy, I'll meet you outside

  • If Benzapp has so little concern for what happens to people in his own community, perhaps he should not be spending his precious free time reading a neighborhood message board. That "you must be a woman" remark is pretty troll-ish and as such, its poster loses the right to be taken seriously.

Anyhow, there was a post from Jordan's (the baby scalded at Starbucks) parents on PSP a couple weeks ago. He was home from the hospital but had severe burns on his face and elsewhere. It sounded like he was out of danger but rehabilitation is going to be a long and difficult process.

I would also really like to know if the owner of the pit bull that killed another dog has been identified. If it is true that that's the second attack, then the dog should be destroyed and the police officers, in any case, were negligent in letting the dog go. I once saw a pit bull attack a horse in Prospect park a few years ago, and the police confiscated the dog as its owner (a kid) was trying to run with it out of the park. The laws regarding animal-to-animal attacks have been strengthened since then, so I would really like to know more about the reasoning of the officers called to the scene of last week's attack.
  • MOD NOTE:
I've moved this thread to The Lounge. Please discuss the pit bull attack on the existing pit bull attack thread, and the injured baby on the scalding thread, etc.

New threads to discuss existing threads lead us down some kind of wormhole as far as I can see . . . *what the heck is wrong with this world* discussion, pls carry on here. Thx folks!
