fine. whatever. but i don't think being concerned about a real threat makes me dramatic.

i realize that.. i was suggesting bdrids padlock her own fridge so no one has to worry about a kid getting stuck in there.

If I'm not mistaken, the law specifially applies to refrigerators that are being trashed. Those were used as hiding spaces because people usually removed all the shelving and hardware prior to putting them out for trash. If you are planning on using the fridge for food, its highly unlikely that a child will be able to climb in and hide (because of shelves and food) or want to (because refrigerators are cold). I'd say take the plunge.

As for the aesthetic of it..it may not be attractive, but surely that's not the worst thing on the block?

So many people simply have trash piles in their backyard.

I can't say whether a child would climb in (a little too Hansel and Gretel for me), but it has airholes.
