Sopranos Finale Watch Parties?
My husband and I don't have a TV and usually download The Sopranos the day after it airs. However, I'm not sure we can afford taking the risk of friends and co-workers spoiling the ending tomorrow at work, before we see it. Anyone know if there's anywhere in Park Slope or the surrounding areas having a watch party?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Well, it looks like there's a good chance you could catch the big finale at Black Sheep Pub tonight. This is hearsay only. But I'll be going by at about 8:55 to get my seat... You know. Just in case.
Thanks! -
Oh Great!! Thanks for calling to find out. See you there!

I can't believe Paulie Walnuts is Tony's father....

Where are you downloading episodes from the next day? Tell me your secret..
Thanks!
While back I was downloading episodes of six feet under and the very last episode that was in the show I tried to download... and I got a very nasty notice from my isp and hbo telling me to cease and desist!!
Too late to tell you now but it is dangerous to download such a moment because hbo has a huge staff to harass you or whatever they do with the info..
I will wait till the dvd comes out but I expect by the morning it will be all over the news and the neighborhood what the last episode revealed!! -
What kind of ending was that?! :?:

It leaves an opening for the movie David Chase says he may produce. -

I seriously thought my cable box had crapped out. -
I thought the ending totally sucked. What a cop out.
Too bad you couldn't call for a redo like in kick ball as a kid. They owe us a different ending and another episode.
Won't happen, but they should. [-X -
What happened, what happened,LOl!
Never mind I will find out .. whether I want to or not!! -
David Chase thinks he's so smart. Writing a non-finale for his show. Like he could continue the show in a movie (or even just a "made for HBO" movie) in the future. But, really, do you think he'll be able to reassemble his cast to do anything in the future? Hell to the no. The only smart thing about this ending is that it preserves the viewership of the episodes between this season and the last episode that was available on DVD.

I think that Tony is dead, if you remember the episode when Bobby and Tony are in the boat, Bobby asks Tony "what do you think happens when you die?" and Tony answers "nothing, it all goes black".
-
I think he got whacked, and that he died looking at his daughter.
-
fuck. that. shit.
Worst ending ever. -
There's always The Sopornos.
-
I thought that the point of the last episode was that there are monsters living among us, and the {TV}reality is that after all Tony has done, he still lives an mundane life like the rest of us. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, and it never did. They did say he was going to get indicted.
Very stressful. That Phil thing was appalling. -
Anyone else want AJ to bite it? I couldn't take any more of his whining.
-
This was David Chase's ultimate fuck-you to the audience, showing his utter contempt for those addicted to the series. Maybe the most public display of passive-aggressive behavior by a writer in history.
I fucking hated the ending! -

I thought the last few years sucked. The two best scenes since Season 3 has been the clippings of Bobby Baccalla and Phil Leotardo. In between the hobby train careening off the track and Phil's head getting popped lik an air bubble by his SUV.....cinemagic. On the other side, you must admit that it was one of the best lat downs in TV history. The restaurant scene is one of the more tense moments I've watched for any program. It had me going to see who was going to kill Tony.
P.S. Oh yes and the extreme close-up of Dr. Melfi's book in the episode before last...very cool. -
My thoughts after watching it a second time:
The guy at the bar/counter is Nikki Leotardo. The same actor played him in the first part of season 6 during a brief sit down concerning the future of Vito. That wasn't that long ago. Apparently, he is the nephew of Phil. Phil's brother Nikki Senior was killed in 1976 in a car accident. Absolutely Genius!!!! David Chase is truly rewarding the true fans who pay attention to detail.
So the point would have been that life continues and we may never know the end of the Sopranos. But if you pay attention to the history, you will find that all the answers lie in the characters in the restaurant. The trucker was the brother of the guy who was robbed by Christopher in Season 2. Remember the DVD players? The trucker had to identify the body. The boy scouts were in the train store and the black guys at the end were the ones who tried to kill Tony and only clipped him in the ear (was that season 2 or 3?).
Absolutely incredible!!!! -

My brother and I are huge fans and we disected the episode and this is just some of the stuff we came up with after hours of discussing it.
We also were trying to figure out why the last episode was titled " Made in America " , then he remembered reading somewhere that the original title of the Sopranos was "made in America". We always try to figure out what the name of the episode has to do with the particular episode.
Would anyone like to guess why the episode where Bobby dies is called
"The blue comet" ? -
It was called "The Blue Comet" because that was the train he was buying and holding when he was whacked. And also because he was longing for the times when trains like that rode to Atlantic City back in the day.

Ahhh. Very cool. Good catch. Anyway, I always thought the imagery of the show was way more compelling than the plot. Like a Van Eyck painting--all set very symolically and you have to know the significance of the little details.

seven24, your post here is just an exact copy of an email that has been circling all over the internet. Did you just cut and paste it here, and play it off as your own thoughts? Or were you actually the guy who started this email?

Anyway, further down the NY Times page all of these theories are refuted. None of those actors actually appeared on the Sopraonos before. Bummer, because I kinda liked it as an explanation.
