We order from La Villa, but for The Speciale, which has a bunch of junk on it
We pick it up, their delivery is slow.
I think it depends on what end of the Slope you're on - Anthony's, for the South Slope, no?
Exhaustively argued already, and I think most of it still holds, here

Don't know the name of this place, on 5th between 10th and 11th, but love their plain slices. Old school pizza, jus like I like it--slightly floppy thin crust, and extra sweet tomato sauce.

Lenny's

Lenny's, ditto...but we have already done this thread to death
-
Unfortunately, this is one of Brooklyn's pizza dead zones, with no really exceptional pizza around. Antonio's (on Flatbush) is ok, and Joe's (on 7th) makes a credible pie, but there's nothing really great. FWIW, I think the Grandma pizza is much much better than the regular slice/pie at Antonio's.

I think you're talking about Joe's, which I really like...do you mean the place with the open window and the ices?
Lenny's is very good too -

Place is shut down due to Violations. -
If you gotta time-machine, it would be Jack's Pizzeria on Ave. M, off East 13th St. *sigh*
But one really good place is Pizza On The Run in Coney Island... 29-32 Stillwell Ave. 718-946-0395 NO DELIVERY though =( -
i think north park slope, especially could really use a great, pizza place that stays open late. what about in the corner spot right where you get out of the bergen 2/3 stop next to bergen bagels? who knows, but i think the neighborhood could support another one. maybe even on 7th ave...

You can never overdo the pizza debate. I say we have a new one every three months or so just to keep close tabs on the local pizza joints.
-
Di Fara
Ave J + East 15 Street
Q train to Ave J
BAM!
There it is. -

i back this. maybe even every two months. -
When I moved here, everyone told us Roma's on 7th.
We went. We ate. Grandma pie.........IT WAS AMAZING! -
i currently stand by Lenny's (sicilian with sauce on top, damn man) and Brother's Pizza cause the guys there are always so damn happy that you're getting some pizza. And i dig their knots somethin' fierce.
-
What's the name of the pizza place on the PH side of Flatbush below 7th Ave? I thought their pies were great, but I don't think they deliver...
-
I heard Franny's on Flatbush is amaziiiiing?
True? -

Gourmet pizza - very good, but not cheap.
True? -
im a fan of pino's- 7th ave between 1st and 2nd---- grew up going there, still go on occasion, they have a phenomenal whole wheat sicillian (sp?!) with tons of veggies and fresh motz! love!!!!
challah (no need to say bread afterwards) is best prob from midwood (take the Q train to avenue J) and pick whichever place you'd like- my personal favorites are chiffons (on coney island ave between J and K) and for a whole wheat challah there is a place that starts with a "p" on the corner of coney island ave and avenue K (pieroges, or something like that)--- they make a "canadian" style challah... if you end up going to difara's, these will be really close by, so it won't be so out of the way... -
There is no place that rivals DiFara pizza... Take it from a Midwood girl who grew up in the neighborhood and remembers the taste of this pizza when it was $15... and it still tastes the same...

Tomato + Basil is excellent. It's at 4th & Union. I particularly like their eggplant pie. Every other local pizza place is crap, in my opinion.
-
I second Tomato & Basil. Not excellent, but for a local place it's good.
I like the eggplant and their grandma/pa or what ever you call it :-k
Seriously though, Di Fara is a legend but they are don't deliver to PS!!! and the OP's original question is asking for a local pizza. So, I'll also throw in Pinos, Roma and Pizza by the Park. Pizza by the Park does an amazing fresh mozzarella and basil slice =P~ and they do some interesting but delicious toppings, like their Cajun shrimp slice (really good!). -
Another vote for Lenny's here. Plain old fashioned good Brooklyn Pizza. They've been around for a very long time, so clearly they know what they are doing.

Sad but true -- sad that Di Fara's is not in Park Slope.

Woops re read my old response applauding Di Fara's... That was 15 CENTS A SLICE.
-
I like pinos on 7th ave
-
Jamzer, I agree. Pizza threads need to be done regularly! I second the vote for PINO'S. Dependable, regulah pizza, and you can sit there forever.
Franny's was written up yesterday--looking forward to going there.
