Keyfood on 7th
Haven't been there in ages but since I was passing by ( see Elementi post) I stopped in. It's looks much cleaner. Bought a few things I can't get at C-Town. The freezer cases look new. The milk/beer aisle is all clear. Not a crate/box in site. No crap to move around to get what you want. Same with the ice cream area. One large standing basket in the center instead of a bunch filled with crappy candy. Forzen vegetable area looked new/clean. They have a large extra freezer I see that was empty. Maybe since Dag's closed they've made improvements. Anyway, hope they add more improvements and keep it clean.

Subject: Key Food 7th Ave.
Checked it out...nice selection of natural foods -
That Key Food is over-priced, lacks enough cashiers to keep the lines moving, and sells rotten poduce. End of story.
-
yes- the cashiers are very slow there, and kind of rude...

I actually was rather impressed with the produce... nice fresh organics and the cherries were dynamite and priced pretty well. -
Hmmm.... 2 posts to your name and perhaps the only person in Brooklyn who finds anything nice to say about the 7th Ave Key Food. Are you the general manager, perhaps?
To be totally truthful, I went to the KF last night and noticed that they're actually replacing the coolers and freezers. The place is still a horrendous, gross grocery store, so don't expect to find me there for anything more than emergency purchases for items that the bodegas don't carry. -
I actually stopped by yesterday too and it looked like they were cleaning out the shelves and freezers. But I'd rather walk to the one on 5th. Something about the one on 7th doesn't sit well with me.

No, the produce wasn't rotten so it isn't the end of the story.
So if someone has 3 posts versus someone who has 582 posts their posts aren't legitimate? Good to know.
Anyway, I said it's cleaner than it was and they are still making improvements. If you're on 7th and don't want to go to 5th ave then it's not a bad choice. -
I agree it's cleaner, usually the produce is pretty bad, but it's been better later. Maybe because it's in season. The organic section is a nice addition as well as the organic chicken. I agree with eggcream, if you're on 7th it's not a bad choice - though usually I go to Union Market. Never did get around to joing the coop.
