Crazy Guy on Myrtle — Brooklynian

Crazy Guy on Myrtle

Just curious but I've seen this guy for over a year now. He usually hangs out in the middle of the street around Adelphi and Myrtle. I've seen him smoke something out of foil, sit on peoples stoops, then hit his head and run around screaming to himself. The other day I saw him outside Sushi D, hitting his head in front of all the outside diners. Anyone know his deal? Just wondering...He's not threatening, he's actually amusing to watch. Just wondering if I'm the only one who sees him.

  • Is it the guy that looks just like Rasheed Wallace? Because I see that guy all the time, and ironically he acts similarly to his NBA counterpart.

Yes he does!!! He always says, "Hey yo pa (partner, i think) spare a quarter for homeless man?"

    SHEEEEED!!!!
  • lol!!!! is this the same guy who is always at the bp gas station on atlantic and vanderbilt? if so, i heard he stopped taking his meds and is becoming more of a nuisance.

lol...yeah, he does kind of look like RW. He's all over Clinton Hill along Myrtle, from as far down by the Post Office and Associated sometimes to as far as the smaller market in front of the Whitman Houses. He also hangs around a lot by Farmer in the Deli during lunchtime hero rush...plenty of spange to be had then, I guess. Didn't realize he was down on Atlantic, too, but I'm not surprised.

Hard to tell if he's for real or if it's a big act. Was walking with my gf one time, and he started waving his arms and yelling and doing his thing, and when I told him to f**k off, he turned around and walked over to a few dudes and started having a conversation as normal as can be. Crackhead scammer or whatever, if you ask me.
  • No, that guy is definitely mental.

(hehehe, SHEED, yeah I chuckle to myself every time I see him (unless he's cursing at me))

  • That's Daniel. His parents live on Carlton or Claremont (ever notice he's always wearing a clean shirt & pants, usually gets a hair cut every couple of months and every winter has a new parka?) and every time the cops bring him in (which is RARE), his parents get him out post haste. Rumor has it, he's schitzophrenic and, obviously, a crackhead. He's told me that the crack is his "medicine". Whatever. He's just so damn annoying. Instead of paying his bail or whatever all the time, I wish his parents would send him to rehab and make him take his "real" meds.

  • i kinda want to see this guy. he sounds fun.
  • I wonder if this is the same guy who is often on DeKalb by Cumberland and Carlton in front of the 2 bodegas....

Does anyone remember Eddie the sock man? Anyone know what happened to him? He was the one with the little plaits always selling the socks and he would be sweet as pie unless he didn't take his meds then you would here his screaming rants for several blocks around. I always used to buy socks from him, then he was gone all of a sudden.
  • Yeah, Sheed often hangs out on Dekalb right around that area.

I definitely remember Eddie the sock man! That guy was a real character (to put it euphemistically). He used to go into Tilly's and sell his socks there and in general always had some off the wall comment for me or my wife as we would walk past him. Yeah, I wonder where he went....
