  • I just did a little spinning dance in my cheap (but very drinkable!) bottle of wine.
  • too bad they don't mention how big the place would be.

It's going to be in the former bank on Court/Atlantic.
  • It's being discussed on the Brownstoner too, along with a possible McDeez opening up nearby. Here's a good reply on the comments section:
Property Shark indicates that the Independence Bank is 28,150sf (and shows 65 ft x 137.5 for the building).

For some reason I thought that the usual Trader Joe's was twice that size.

    Also, a logistics question:

If this is true, where would the loading dock be for the supply trucks?

On the corner of a busy intersection, or in the parking lot space that Walentas' intends to use to build a new luxury condos building?

Just trying to piece together if this can actually make sense or not.

The delivery trucks for the (Met?) supermarket on the NE corner of Atlantic at Clinton are able to sidle up along the Clinton St side for deliveries, but I think the case is more complicated for such a busy corner (and planned new luxury condos development, adjacent to bank bldg?) as Atlantic and Court.
Anyone have opinions on what traffic increase will be like?

I was in TJs buying wine a couple of weeks ago. The guy there said that there would be a TJs in Queens before Brooklyn but that I would still have to come to 14th St to get wine, something about them only being able to have 1 liquor license in the city. Don't know how true that is but don't forget the Whole Foods had to get rid of liguer in the Columbus circle store because that was not enough separation between the between the stores. and the TJs wine on 14th St is a totally separate store. NY has strange laws the preclude selling anything over 12% in certain stores.
  • So psyched. The frozen fruit that my husband so adores melts on the ride back on the Q from Trader Joe's, then refreezes into weird clumps that drive him nuts. This'll be closer, at least. :)

Also, much easier for me to dash in on a day off - I hate having to go into Manhattan if I don't have to.
  • YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

I realize I'm not holding in my excitement. Than again I'm closest to KF on 7th. I'm sure everyone understands..

Who needs TJ's wine when you've got Heights Chateau on Atlantic? TJ's sells rotgut, most of it's been stored in warehouses in the desert. HC has a great selection of good wine, much of it under $10. No $2 Chuck, but you get what you pay for.

Anyway, I'm ECSTATIC that TJs is coming to Brooklyn. I've been begging them for the past 5 years. I was hoping they were moving into the old Gristede's space on 7th Ave., but Atlantic will do just fine.

Er, last I checked, Atlantic and Court Street is more Cobble Hill than Brooklyn Heights. But thank you for playing. :)
