  • forgive me! I only posted the link, knowing how sensitive you are. I had your best interests in mind. You choose to make the click, not me.

I'm just going to go right ahead and make an executive order as one of the site admins: NO BARFING PICS. Linking to them (with a warning) is dandy, but no no no no NO barfing pics.

    Y'all okay with that?
  • ap, you're a mod, correct? it needs to be an official rule.

Yup, but also one of the site admins. I'm pulling rank. No barf pics, dambit! I think Emily and DH will back me up on that one. :)

    How about Stand By Me?

    Yay for Joey Chestnut!

Also, we should all pay our deepest respects to all of these outstanding athletes. :D

    Well played, sir.

We had a blast! Got there about an hour before the competition. The crowd was fun, the weather was cool, and the M.C. did a really good job of keeping everybody "up" when there wasn't much to do but stand around. We weren't close, but we could see well enough - and of course, ya can't argue with the outcome. My only complaint is that the crowds made it virtually impossible to actually purchase any Nathan's - sad, because after watching others enjoy the chow with such gusto, I was definitely up for a few dogs. And cheese fries. I'm going every year, dammit.

And I hear ya on those lines, holy crap! I kept thinking they would go down, I came past hours later. They _had_ gone down, but not by much! WoW!
  • UPDATE: "Deep Dish" Bertoletti just beat Chestnut AND Kobyashi in the IFOCE-sanctioned Buffalo Wild Wings chicken wing eating competition!

Chicken Wing-Eating Champion Downs Over 4 Pounds in 8 Minutes
  • Joey Chestnut just set a new record at the Krystal hamburger eating competition. 103 burgers in 8 minutes!

  • I'd hate to see that guy in a buffet line.
  • Joey Chestnut is only 23?

He looks much older. They say that eating too much food can really age you...
