Fuck the government

Got a ticket on my car on July 4th for expired inspection. And of course, another one today. That's just wrong to ticket on America's Day.

  • Ouch that sucks...
That's what you get for being patriotic
  • I'll play devils advocate. You say fuck the government for giving you a ticket, I say thank the governement for encouraging you to get your car a safety inspection. Maybe they will help you to ensure that your car is safe to operate.
  • They are really quick with those tickets. Our inspection sticker was good through June and we got the ticket July 1st at 7:00 a.m. :(
  • You have a whole year to get your car inspected. Shame on you for waiting until it was too late.
  • tickets just another form of government taxes.
  • And they'll get you every day from now on until you get it inspected.

Your only hope (besides getting it inspected) is parking in a completely different neighborhood. Same thing happened to me a few summers ago.
  • We got three tickets in four days back in January (including New Years Day). We disputed the tickets on-line, they cut them in half.
  • last week i saw a one of those traffic control police cars driving extra slow down 15th, looking at inspection stickers. eventually he did find one, and got out to ticket.

Yeah, I've seen them too. I've also seen them walking down the street, looking at each car. I guess it's easy money.

I'm not saying it wasn't a legitimate ticket, I was just amazed at how fast it happened. Having worked for the city government, I'm always impressed when any part of it functions efficiently. And it definitely motivated us to get the car inspected immediately.
  • Just ignore the tickets and wait for the inevitable amnesty.

EDIT: This was not a serious suggestion. Although I did know one guy that ignored tickets and then claims to have used the Pedro Guerrero Defense when called before the judge, ie, that he was so stupid that he didn't know what the tickets were or what to do with them (not true). He did get a substantial reduction in the amount of money he had to cough up.
  • i've ignored tickets. it's not pretty
