Dude stop, you're gonna make me spit out my organic pomegranate juice, haw haw.
Back in the old days, REAL Brooklynites would never have gotten actual Census facts like you geeky yuppies do nowadays...
And we didn't have cars OR strollers. Once the kid turned 2, you'd saddle him up like a horse and ride him!
Go get 'em Ethan.. dumb locals, haw haw

I think he/she meant "youse" people. Be nice. -

I know the guy, I know the cars - Carroll 5th/6th right? There must be some sentimental reason for why he's keeping those crappy-ass BMWs parked. I've NEVER seen him drive them anywhere. They just sit and rot on street. Weird.
Yes! More irrefutable evidence! There's a guy across from me that has lived in the PS, like, FOREVER (don't contradict me), who owns 3 crappy BMWs, none of which work, plus a family van for actual vehicular travel. He spends his life tinkering with his darling, impotent, cars and having his mates push them from one side of the street to the other on alt. parking days.
Hate him.
Exactly, it's Butch, Mabel's grandson (son?).
It's not sentimental - he's bought more over the years. They're BMWs, therefore they must be awesome. He revs them up periodically and fills the street/houses with vile fumes.
Just like back in the day when Restless Native was rambling the rustic Park Slope sidewalks. -

Who would've ever thought the day would come when people claiming to be 'Brooklynites' make fun of a Brooklyn accent.. unreal. Takes alotta nerve.[-X -

Kind of reminds me of this one incident; my father's preferred method is to sit at the fire hydrant and just wait stationary for someone to pull out. Well one time he makes a move for a spot, and suddenly he hears this Martha Stewart-voice yelling out, "My spot, that's my spot!!!".
but i don't want my car messup i gave it up for crazy lady and crazy son. who started to go ape shit on me lol. they some how believe the spot in front of their house is theirs!!!! i used to find alot of them in sunset park and bensonhurst and i would say old parts of park slope too.
Apparently one Ms. Million-Dollar-Brownstone, picture-perfect family lily-white family across the street decided that the spot was hers, despite the fact that she was standing in her areaway and her Volvo station wagon (
) was double-parked nowhere near the spot in question.
This is the same freak, mind you, who lets her kids play outside in front of the house butt-ass naked. (hopefully she or someone who knows her is reading this  )
So anyway my father, being an extremely laid-back guy, just lets her have it. She goes to pull in and.. can't fit into the spot

She drives off in a huge huff, and he got it anyway.
It's so beautiful sometimes, when life works out that way. 8) -
white peeps r in ur hoodz calln ur spotz

To sum up:
Illegally double-parking on alternate-side days = perfectly reasonable
Illegally standing in a spot to hold it = you're an asshole
OR
Standing in a spot while dad runs out to grab the car = the way we do it in Park Slope
Calling a spot from your areaway so you can run and grab your car = lily-white rich-ass Martha Stewart freak
Bottom line: the thing that normal people like me do to get a parking space is cool. The thing that assholes like you do to get your parking spaces is ruining this neighborhood. -

Thanks, but I've never claimed to be a Brooklynite. Wouldn't dare. -

It's called the way things were always done in this neighborhood, Graham. I didn't make up the rules - they were there before me, and most certainly you and your snickering kind.

I know for those like you who come from cultureless cul-de-sac wastelands, where social skills are unfortunately not learned at an early age, something as complex as an accepted informal code of behavior is probably impossible to grasp, but around here it used to be the norm.

THAT'S A GREAT STORY. WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO TELL IT AGAIN, BUT WITH MORE DETAILS THIS TIME? -
What's a Martha Stewart voice and what has being lily-white got to do with it? This is silly.
-
Clooney and Marky-Mark better make a run for it - Restless Native and El Flailey: The Perfect Storm.

Martha Stewart would totally kick their arses.
