or maybe part of being adult is just moving on - I may get irritated with mob scenes of strollers at Connecticut Muffin at 8:30 AM on a Tuesday morning - but, I really wouldn't want to live anyplace else in NYC.

park slope mom's are milfs
. -
My children's friends have sometimes called me a milf, and I innocently ask..."what's a milf?" Apparantly it means Mother I Love Forever.
-
Yeah gawker!
I'm headed to two boots. -
Ah MILF.. I was too embarrassed to ask for a translation earlier..
But no Kidding.. I think My kids think I am one (in the most positive sense) and I am proud of that!! -
Awesome. I heart gawker.

Um, Veets, in case you are not joking, it normally means Mother I'd Like to F*ck. Your kids probably don't think of you that way, I hope.

I'm sorry Veets! For the record, that *is* what my kids told me that it meant!

I'm not entirely convinced Gawker is sincere. It's hard to tell with them. I wouldn't rule out the possibility that they've decided that hating on the Slope has been done to death rather than having had a genuine change of heart.

I think you have very nice kids and they didn't want to use the F word or a nasty concept when they defined it for you.. Good for you kids!! Respect thy father and thy mother!1 -
I truly feel that Gawker was being sarcastic.

Sarcastic or ironic? I kind of think they just want to go against the grain. With all the NY Times articles and London Times articles bashing Park Slope, they want to be contrary. Just like my kids when they were two. -
I could not figure out if it was supposed to be sarcastic or not. The thing is, it will never get old as long as putting up a Park Slope post generates hundreds of comments.

The woman who wrote that Gawker post had just gone through a break-up with her boyfriend. So she was facing down some jealousy (hence the title of the post) regarding those who were married and settled with kids - and to her, Park Slope epitomizes this. Her theory was, by admitting her jealousy, she could really appreciate what Park Slope had to offer. So it wasn't sarcastic - and this particular editor is known for being "nice" as well....

We just moved her 6 weeks ago and I can't understand what there is to "hate" about park slope.
we did get out car stolen the 1st week here, but that could have happened anywhere in the 5 boroughs.
i love it here. i thinks its great! -
I agree with nubnu. Granted, I've only been here in Park Slope for about 3 years, but this place is the first place I haven't wanted to move out of immediately. I'm happy here. I like the people, I like the neighborhood. People can talk all they want about this place, but whatever. It's home to me, and it'll stay that way for a long time.
Howdy, Stranger!
