    Yeah, what's happening tomorrow?
  • this whole thread has been really heartening, i sure wish the owner of the pet store could look at it from a 'give the customer what he wants' perspective. if he truly 'doesn't care' where he gets his pets from, why not join forces with one of the MANY rescue groups/shelters in town and let them stock his store? i mean, it's not like it would cost him more to do this, is there really such a demand for 'new' dogs and cats?

it's hard enough to run a small business, let alone one that has irked most of the neighborhood (not even mentioning the sje incident). he's got a tough row to hoe in any case; start digging buddy!
  • I'm sure he's looking at this puppy sale thing as a strictly profit making and he's not going to make a profit (in his eyes) working to have dogs adopted without money changing into his hands. And if he truly doesn't care where the pups come from, he could get them fairly cheaply from a bad breeder and inflate the price enormously.
Now the situation is that he has alienated his base of customers with the sje abuse and attitude towards animals, so no one on this forum is going to buy anything from him.
So there are many losers from this. The owner who won't make sales. The customers who would like to have a quality store to purchase pet products from.
And most of all the animals he's selling and going into unknown circumstances with buyers who are unaware of what they are bringing home and what they may be dealing with with poorly bred dogs.
The best way for this owner to "fix" what has transpired is what you said above.
Toss out selling animals and embrace assisting the rescue groups, with an apology to those on this board for his ignorance, because ignorace is not bliss when it comes to an animals life.
  • So what happened yesterday? Was there an adoption day done outside the store?
  • Anyone been by here to see what the deal is?
  • I walk by and glare in every day on my way to work, and noticed today that they still have the same puppies in the front window (and humans weren't wearing happy expressions inside). Apparently business is NOT booming...
  • Thanks for the update. I don't know what they expected here in our neighborhood. We've got more animal rescuers/rescued animals per sq. ft. than anywhere else in the country!
