SPORTS RECAP
In our last episode, tragedy struck Freddy's as O'Connor's made off with the blue bra 18 to 10. It now resides on the horns of the famous OC's moosehead. Albeit, OC's won purely on good playing and possibly skill, Freddy's team captain Pat Oshea proclaimed "There's still the swim suit competition! You jerk asses!"
Well fellas, don't get your backs waxed just yet. On Sunday July 15, Freddy's has a chance to regain the glory. Also OC's MVP, Megan Irish chick, just told me she's out of town this weekend so oddds look good.
Hope to see you all there.

hey yarn,
I've heard rumors that a certain pizza-making O'C regular will be tied up that day...tending bar at O'C! -
Do you mean that kid that keeps giving me the "nurple" when I'm not looking? There are better ways of telling I'm 10 pounds overwieght. What will OC's do with out their star nurpler?

not laugh at his "awesome" pizza tat?
i kid because I can. -
Bar patrons, are you ready to rock this Sunday?

AFTER THE BALL
Long story short, the large Blue Bra was hung at OC's as Freddy's licked their wounds over pizza and beer at OC's (good pizza, thanks Kevin.)
Matty K. (Freddy's) lead a toast to OC's on a game well played. As the large Blue Bra was signed, dated and hung on the moose, Captain Kevin (OC's) lead their official fight song. "OCs, OCs, OCs, OC's (clap clap clap), OC's, OC's... etc." much like the Orc Army in "Return of the Kings". Both team captains shook hands to a cheering crowd. Tom made great bar tips and a good time was had by all except for that guy that punched his Treo and broke the screen (Freddy's).
The score: 15 to 9
Injuries: Bret (Freddy's) was stung by a wasp, funny considering he's from Connecticut.
I'll post some photos this Wednesday, Bill C. will have a play-by-play up shortly. -
It was indeed a sad day, but made much better by OC's delicious bloody marys. Who broke their Treo? It wasn't my brother was it? I'll send you my photos of the heartbreaking bra mounting event later. I did make a point to Kevin, that he should in good faith actually bring the bra to the game as we always did and not leave it hanging at OCs. They are good.... but I feel a comeback is on the way for Freddy's.

I won't name names, but he was friendly giant of a lad with red shirt and brown cap. That Treo display looked more like a Mark Rothko circa 1980's than it did handheld technology. By the time he left it looked Sam Francis circa 1960s
Bill C. and I made sure that he caught his dollar van, we parked him in front of Dunkin Donuts. I think he said he was OK, but it sounded like "mmmime monna meee mall might". -

Here they are folks, i posted these pics in reverse order so you can see the good sportsmanship. If you speed through the slide show, you can almost hear "I burried Paul".

The slide show runs the length of "American Pie", so grab a beer or bring a sandwich.
New hanging ceremony pics from Miss Welty posted on 07/20/07. -
The Freddy's Big Red-Faced Machine extended its losing streak to 2 games while O'C's won 2 consecutive games for the first time ever (since 1933). Although Freddy's jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, O'C's highly disciplined unit jumped ahead with 2 runs at the top of the 2nd followed by a spirit-crushing 6 run inning in the third. Much of the credit is surely due to O'C's manager Kevin who enforces party discipline and keeps his team on message and unwilling to give up weak runs. Since the losing team manager/ bartender often buys the bar a $120 or so round the financial incentive is there. And of course the stewardship of the highly coveted Large Blue Bra trophy. Freddy's meanwhile saw few highlights outside of pitcher Matty "the K." Kuhn's career-high two strikeout game and a productive, albeit too little too late, ninth inning. Kuhn did manage to lower his ERA to a dainty 16.44. Also, the Lady Byng trophy for sportsmanship went to Freddy's manager Pat O'Shea while the Venezia (sp?) award for top goal tender went to Freddy's First Sacker, Jim. Freddy's manager Pat O'Shea has vowed a shake-up and there is a rumored switch from Bud to Heineken.
