bedbugs
Last week one of my building apartment reported for bedbugs. My apartment have not had it (I have been checking every day& vaccuming the mattress and floors) I have been pretty fricked out. It has been about a week and because apparently you have to pack everything in the room in prastic bag before you get exterminator, it will takes more to get the exterminator. My apartment is two floor above, but I really really do not want one! The situation makes me really stressed out. Have anybody know how to prevent them from coming? How likely to get one if you have a neighbor who has it?
By the way, I did the research and there are sharply increasing case of bedbug problem in the city lately. You can get it even if you are really clean, it does not matter. You bring it into your housee with your bag and stuff after traveling, most of the case. Check the mattress occcasionaly....

(Edit: Opps my bad then, sorry)
Anyways, there's a few rather lengthy posts on bed bugs, do a search you'll find it them pretty fast. All you need to know and more is in there.
PS you can get over the counter spray for the bugs, until your landlord sprays the building. Also, make sure you insist he/she does your place along with neighboring floors. -
I did not actually get a star. You cannot rate your own post. But thanks for advice.

Subject: Your BB problem
I had a very similar situation. I actually got bit on two separate occasions.
Here's the trick... it's actually pretty easy:
Cover your mattress, box spring, pillows, and comforter with protective sheets. Use the nice cloth ones from bedbath and beyond that are labeled for treating allergies, dust mites, etc. -- don't use plastic, it sucks. Also, pull your bed a couple inches away from any surrounding walls.
Order D-20 from these guys (http://www.freshwaterorganics.com) - it's totally non toxic to humans and pets - it rocks. Buy the 5 oz puffer bottle (that's all you need) and gently mist it all around and under the bed. (You do this by gently tapping on the bottom of the bottle.) Use it on any other areas u are concerned with. Then, rest and relax.... you should be fine.
I am in no way affiliated with any of the products/companies mentioned. When I heard my building was previously infested, i researched the issue like a madman. This really works -- it's been months and i am bite free. To anyone who tries it, I sincerely hope it spares you the anxiety caused by waking up bitten.
Good Luck & Blessings - keep us posted!
