The Brooklyn Inn is... different
Went in there for the first time since new mgmt took over. All the chick bartenders are gone and you can no longer hear the music in the fabulous box. Don't know if the music is lower or the clientele is louder. Even had a few drunken frat boys, and one of them was puking in the street. That NEVER used to happen. Maybe it's more like the old days during the week, but I will never go in there on the weekend ever again. Bad, young, dumb crowd.
Could getting rid of the cool-as-ice barmaids have really made that much of a difference. I can't put my finger on why it's so different.

"chick bartenders"
No, you're thinking of Hooters on 56th Street.
If you want tits, go to a titty bar. -
Fool. Not what I meant and you know it. Something about the barmaids there made the place. They never used their tits for tips. That would've been beneath them.
-
don't you think calling them "barmaids" might give it a sexual connotation, as if they're not getting tipped for their intellect or skills? Also, referring to them as "chicks", I guess that isn't beneath them.
The crowd there always sucked--at least they kept that constant. -
I was there Wednesday night and the crowd was great - mainly people from the neighborhood and it was a friendly scene. I was disappointed that I didn't recognize the bartender but he turned out to be a good guy and even bought us a few rounds. It's not as pleasant on weekends, but I know to avoid it then.

Subject: Oh for heaven's sake.
Yet another reason to be annoyed by a goodly portion of the people in BoCoCa. The PC police are ever on the prowl. Can't even use words like "barmaid" and "chick" without having some numbnut jump down your throat. Jeebus. -
most bars turn to shit on the weekend

oh please, 'mousy. welcome to the 21st century, where the term for people's job doesn't change based on their gender.

Subject: It ain't the same
There is a different vibe now; the music is 'duller' .
Also there are now a lot of Bridge n' Tunnel people from some place called New York. They seem harmless I wouldn't be surprised if they start to settle. Just the other day I was offerd some beads to sell-up. And dam it if those beads were not the prettyist thing.
Maybe there are some decent neighbourhood haunts in this place called New York, got to go as a monkey just flew out of my butt.
Howdy, Stranger!
