What's going on on Washington and Pacific?

A fire?

Subject: Fire on Pacific street

There was a fire last night on Pacific Street between Grand and Washington. From where I was I could see flames shooting up from the second floor. The firemen had it under control fairly quickly. It was a 3 story building next to one of Hello Living's new apts. close to 941 or 943 Pacific Street

Your address? Geez, were you caught in one of those fires? Hope everything turned out okay. My old building caught fire a few years ago at 3am, it was the most terrifying thing I've ever experienced. The fire started in the apartment below us and our smoke alarm wasn't working. We woke up to find the apartment filled with smoke and had to gather our 4 cats and 2 dogs. We couldn't go downstairs (saw the flames shooting out of the door below) and had to run up to the roof. I still have nightmares sometimes and wake up thinking I smell smoke.

We were very lucky. I have an endless amount of sympathy for victims of fire now.
