Subject: brownstone bagel bread

went there yesterday for lunch

owner is retired nypd, a personal friend and a hell of a nice guy. (and no, i am not being paid to write this!!)

had chicken salad on a plain bagel. had to get back home to LI before rush hour traffic began (SOL on that one), so i had to take my lunch to go. was starving, so i ate said sandwhich while driving along atlantic avenue. a lot of asswipe drivers and potholes - but the sandwhich was great!!!

really enjoyed it

will have to visit there again - this time for breakfast

do you think it's true that people/business owners want to hear things? They should - because it could prevent the whole 'going out of business' thing.

But I find when I make a comment, it's usually not appreciated or taken seriously. Many times people think they've figured it all out and just want you to take it as is. That's been my experience at many places. esp.restaurants. a bagel store... may be different. of course if they know people are talking en masse (so to speak) with their critiques they may take it more seriously.

OK, I went back, and they're getting they're "sh*t together and seem genuinely friendly and kind. They're multigrain bagels are so yummy too - they have sunflower seeds on 'em!

As for the iced coffee comment - clearly you worked in a disgusting establishment - when I did marketing for a reputable coffee company, we brewed fresh coffee allowed it to cool a little and then added ice. I drink coffee regularly and in the summer, having it "iced", makes it much easier to drink while waiting on a hot and sweaty platform. I think whoever made iced coffee popular is a genius! The anti-iced coffee comment maker is just a "debbie downer"
