it appears that its Park Place and Classon, and yes the music is still going on at this very minute....Does anyone else hear this??
Time: 4:30 am -
just called the local precinct so hopefully this will get results, it appears like in the last thread, that the police are having a hard time gaining access to the location.
-
i guess since i am the only one up, i'll just bitch and complain to myself...
Now its gone from hip hop / rnb / dancehall to HOUSE Music...
how is this possible? This isnt my first time living in a major
metropolitain area, but i've never experienced anything like this before...
Time: 5:00 am -

At least it wasn't all bad then. This side of Washington, we went from some very good jazz early on to Michael Jackson and downhill from there.

i hope they got fined according to the new laws.
-
themfa, sorry you had to go through that.
If it makes you feel any better the party that decided to start on my stoop and in front of the brownstone left 2 broken chairs, a cooler, random bottles, and food containers.
All for us quiet renters to clean up afterwards. -
what happen mamacita?
-
Where are all the "We were here 1st!" Party people attacking this guy for making the 311 call? Oh right...... the party ended at 5 am. They must be asleep.
Start blaring some classical music or Opera out your window. That will wake them up. This is Brooklyn right? House party central!
Pavarotti in the House!!!! Woooo! Wooo!

You know what? It's a beautiful summer night. It's a Saturday.
Sometimes you have to live and let live. During the week? NO WAY. Saturday night? Every now and then. That's the way it goes here. -
Keeping people up 'till 5:00 am just stinks, regardless of what day of the week it is.
Lots of people work on the weekend, or go to church on Sunday morning. -
yeap i work on the weekends. if any idiot does this. i'll so call the cops on them. and if i could get away with it throw shit at them.

I have a theory that there are vast numbers of almost deaf people living in Brooklyn, they grew up listening to painfully loud music played by their parents, became partially deaf as children because of it, and have their own painfully loud parties when they grow up. Just trying to understand this phenomenon.
Yes, it sucks, but sometimes, especially in summer, people are going to have parties! Luckily, in Crown Heights, they do it on a Friday or Saturday night.
I have a small feather pillow I put over my head when this happens, to help sleep. I guess I've given up. ](*,)
BTW, I work on weekends also. -
♪♫ Everybody's workin' for the weekend ♪♫
EDIT: Same thing happend to me a while back - way loud music until 3am...SO tired the next day. poo. -

I love this theory. Brilliant!
Also might explain why people stand on the sidewalk and have a conversation with a pal across the street by YELLING at the top of their lungs. You'd think they'd just call on their cellphone, but whatevah. -
I had the same experience on Friday night. There is this grey Jaguar with tainted windows on our block, you better pray when you have it parked under your window during the week end. 10 guys used the car as their boom box with all doors open with music blasting while drinking and smoking weed on the sidewalk...I can let you imagine the decibel level.
-
Yeah, but we had a crappy SUV blaring the bad music to the crappy party in front of our place. seriously, I love r&b and rap but this stuff sucked. Funny thing was that after I had turned on the AC and tried to go to bed around 2AM another party dominated the air waves. They were playing "Tainted Love" HAAA!~!!!!!
-
Sometimes I feel I've got to
Run away I've got to
Get away
From the pain that you drive into the heart of me
The love we share
Seems to go nowhere
And I've lost my light
For I toss and turn I can't sleep at night
(chorus)
Once I ran to you (I ran)
Now I'll run from you
This tainted love you've given
I give you all a boy could give you
Take my tears and that's not nearly all
Oh...tainted love
Tainted love
Now I know I've got to
Run away I've got to
Get away
You don't really want IT any more from me
To make things right
You need someone to hold you tight
And you'LL think love is to pray
But I'm sorry I don't pray that way
(chorus...)
Don't touch me please
I cannot stand the way you tease
I love you though you hurt me so
Now I'm going to pack my things and go
Tainted love, tainted love (x2)
Touch me baby, tainted love (x2)
Tainted love (x3)

themfa,
I feel your pain. We had a 4AM-er a couple weeks ago and it wrecked me for days. It was so loud, my husband and I had to yell in our house, with the A/Cs on, to be heard. It was the loudest music I have ever experienced. So please keep calling 311 and keep track of the dates it happens, should it become a chronic problem. -

while noise in the city should go down I believe in freedom of speech! -
Bump, since guest was obviously trying to knock this off of page one.

I think people should document these parties, so that potential renters/buyers can get some idea where is a de-facto club and not to be used for residential purposes, at least without a steep discount. It seems that two blocks can make all the difference in how often one has raging next door, and while we've been lucky not to have that happen yet, I rather dread moving into such a situation without realizing it in time.

I love a good non-sequi turnip soup. -
yo themfa, people like you belong in the suburbs. calling the cops on people. what is your problem? why don't you find a way to go there and tell them to quiet down if it bothers you that bad. You were the cause for the break up of a probably awsome party. You messed up someones good time for 2 reasons 1 you busted the party, 2 you got the cops involved. I know its tough when there's loud music on late but for real, theworld does not always revolve around you. sorry.
-
i don't buy this answer
i honestly think that people who are that inconsiderate need to realize the world does not revolve around them
living in the city should not be equated with "anything goes"
that's a cop out and leads to a breakdown of community
city living requires even more social skills to combat the lack of personal space
not the reverse -
Yo newmovement, if the music was crappy then the party was probably not awesome at all. In fact, the cops should prioritize a call based on the crappiness of the party music.
That being said, I second Neene's sentiment although I tend to give folks a little slack if the party is taking place on the weekend. But that's only because I don't work on the weekends very often.
If anyone is reasonably disturbed by anything going on in the neighborhood, they have a right to take whatever legal action they need to. -
come on, FIVE AM? that's more than a little slack.
they're called clubs, people. go to one. -
Hey, I just said that I tend to give a little slack. I didn't say anyone else had to, did I? Maybe those people couldn't afford a club.
I also might give a little slack if the music is cool. But if not, then I'm definitely down with 311. -
but what i'm saying is that if they have such a problem why do they have to hide behind the cops to get at their neighbors? First step, go there and say "hey I'm trying to sleep WTF" instead of calling the cops. They're your neighbors.
Howdy, Stranger!
