Did Park Slope Barbershop raise prices or rip me off?

I went there Saturday early afternoon and after getting a typical haircut the guy says $20. At first I thought he was joking, but no. I said the hair cut was $14 a month ago and he mumbled something about it going up a couple of bucks and I had a lot of hair!
What the hell was that? I was there about a month ago and had the same haircut but he insisted the amount of hair he cut off did not grow in a month.
I believe he just ripped me off!
Did they raise their hair cuts to $20?

So in summation, screw them.

  • I think they charge more for "long hair." It's posted on the wall, but there's no clear definition of what that is. I think basically that if they're not getting a cut a month out of you, they want to charge more to make up for it. Luckily I get mine short enough when I go that even though I'm not there every month, it's still way too short for them to get away with charging me the "long hair" price.
  • Thanks for the reply.

There was no way I had long hair.

So he ripped me off. Sonofabitch.

    Now I need another barber.
  • I've had my haircut price vary between $15-20. Same amount of hair. I think Carnivore is correct about getting charged more if you come in infrequently.
  • In summation, most places in the slope will cost you $50. are you really that bent over 6 bucks?
  • They don't even give good haircuts there anyway. I go to that salon place on 5th around 3rd street. its like $18 but you get an amazing shampoo/head massage with it!
