where to meet friends?

Veruca - if you want friends you should not be so nasty. Daddy can't buy you friends, unlike Golden Tickets. Try to be a little bit more generous and not so greedy. Treat everyone nicely and not like servants. Follow these simple rules and you will not only stay out of the garbage dump, but you will make plenty of friends too. Good luck!

Lol. Brain working slowly today. Almost asked why you were being so rude.

It sounds weird but when I was new to NYC I placed an add on craigslist. I figured in NYC it was the easiest way to find people that liked the same things I did and lived in my neighborhood. Of course you are going to get some weird replies but since its all over e-mail you can screen out the weirdos.
I was able to become apart of book clubs and just hang out with different crowds. It worked for me. I've made some really great friends. -
Meetup.com has different groups for all sorts of activities. Try a sports/recreation league, such a billiards league (they have them at Brownstone and at Park Slope Billiards, or Amsterdam Billiards in the city), a softball or touch football league (try Zogsports.org), etc. If they ever get the Brooklyn kickball team off the ground, that's another idea.

Tomorrow night at Brownstone Billiards. Peoples will be there. Ya know, if you think you might have something in common with the pricks on this board.

you already meet some online friends by just posting

Subject: make new friends
i made three new friends once
on a spring equinox eve, form clay i formed them, then on their heads i inscribed aleph, mem, tav and to life they came
they didn't seem so lively and lacked dimension, personality and intellect
i hear one of them became a lawyer -
Golems don't count.
I've made friends at the Co-op, at church, book groups, yoga classes, dinner parties thrown by Slopers I've met at the Co-op, church, etc... The Slope is full of incredibly cool people! -
if you are interested in venturing further south, i am trying to coordinate a get-together at some of the new South Slope/Greenwood Heights bars. Please come!
