does anyone know what the deal is with the seemingly abandoned house on 14th? it was up for sale, and the next thing we knew, it was empty. someone's been around enough to post rat poison warnings, but the gutter on the roof is broken and flooding our backyard. we don't know who to call (beyond 311, which is bascially futile).

Do you remember what real estate company had up the for sale sign?
They would have the listing. If it's a for sale by owner, then you should try the nyc building dept. website. They would have a listing of the owner or managing agent in their records.

If not, then maybe try the NYC building dept. website. They would have a record of the owner or managing agent.

It's been like that for a while, I think. I can see the back of it from my house -- we used to see pigeons flying in and out the back windows, though they are boarded up now. I can only imagine what a mess it is inside.

ETA I just realized you are talking about a different block of 14th.

You can probably find the owner by looking on propertyshark.com.

you can try looking up the owner's info on the NYC website if you know the correct address.
