What are the movies listed on the Flatbush movie theatre pavillion?

Comments

  • Man on Fire
    Van Helsing
  • Darn, too late.

Next question: What was there before Home Heating Oil?
  • NailGazzum (SP?)

Toughie (as in I'll buy a drink for the person who answers this at the 4/28 meetup):

What formerly occupied the space which is now 10/20 Plaza St. ?
  • Do you mean 10 Plaza street east?
  • Yep, 10 and 20 Plaza East.

    Free drinkee
  • But 10 Plaza Street is that doorman building that just had it's sidewalk repaved. I know because every time my husband I pass it we say "I'm 10 Plaza street, look at me!" in a snotty hoity toity voice for no other reason than that they had their sidewalk repaved. So you're talking what was there decades ago? Which obviously I don't know.
  • Subject: Re 10/20 Plaza street

It was some sort of automobile club...in the 1910s and 1920s, before 20 PL went up...
  • What famous Rapper used to frequent the bodega for 40's and blunts across from the Met food on vanderbuilt which has now become a flower market?
  • Foxy Brown!
  • That guest was me. What do I win?
  • I was going to say Big E Smalls
  • You win a 40 oz of old english, Phillie, a nickel of shwag, and a shootout on your block... congrats

FYI, BIG used to rap on the corner by fulton mall a few blocks from brooklyn law
  • Rumor has it his moms lived on St Johns and Underhill. Also, rumor has it that Foxy was a cashier at the Met. Anyone know for sure?

    New trivia question:
What is the first line of the poem on the entrance of the GAP library?
  • Where is / what is "Crow Hill"?
  • part of, or a nickname for, crown heights?
  • The original name for Crown Heights - 19th century. Crown Heights is one of the first neighborhood names 'manufactured' by real estate developers...Crown is better than Crow, and Heights is better than Hill...
  • It seems so ironic that they changed the name to make it sound better, and yet, today the name has such a negative connotation resulting from the 1991 riots.
  • What happened to 301 and 303 Prospect Place? The addresses go from 299 to 305.

    I got the whole thing

    ***Here are Enshrined***
    the longing of great hearts
and noble things that tower above the tide
the magic word that winged wonder starts
the garnered wisdom that has never died

apparently by Brett Martin?, I think there may be two more lines to the original poem, maybe someone in the poetry domain can elaborate.

While men have wit to read and will to know,
the door to learning is the open book.

    and!!!!!

Abdul of the Met says Foxy Brown used to bag there, the current cashiers proceeded to go absolutely nuts, they said she still comes in but did'nt know she worked there.

    what do I win?
  • You win my Foxy Brown dubbed cassette tape from 7 years ago. It says "Cranberries" on it in purple pen, and over that it says "FOXY!" in black sharpee. I am sure it will be a collector's item.
  • there's a street clock in PH that is stopped... where is it and what time does it read?

winner gets a free "get out of jail card" for these boards ... ya know, in case you ever misspell something, forget a comma, use the word "gentrify" three times in a post, etc.
  • On Flatbush near the Subway sandwich shop? Gentrify gentrify gentrify.
  • Nobody answered the last question fully.

    anways, sort of proho trivia
